“Like Night in Day”

Description from puppychick labratbecky: Thursday morning a storm came through. I was home with my 2 dogs when the sky became the ugliest, most threatening shade of dark rainbow gray I have ever seen. One dog made a beeline for my bedroom closet, curled up and hid. The other parked his furry butt right next to my chair and began a continuous whimper. It was just amazingly black when the sky suddenly split open and sheets of water poured out. We had thunder, lightning, and an hourlong deluge. The sirens went off and I decided the dog in the closet had the right idea. The other dog and I joined him for the next half hour. It was quite a morning at my house.

Becky, We went through a bad storm also. I have 33 dogs and one of the Poms – Callie, is so afraid of storms. But, I also started a pick using the same beads! Not only do I like the beads in this pick, I know exactly what you were describing. Your description and pick made me relive our bad storm! Like minds do draw from expiriences for their inspiration. Love this pick! This is a FAV pick for me!

    HAHAHA — I also thought — wow! — 33 dogs?!?! 8O So funny, Donna & Coral!

Becky, you’ve perfectly captured the colors of the storms we’ve had recently. So frightening! This pick is beautiful, even though the storms are not! Glad you & the pups are fine! :D

This is a beautiful pick, Becky!

Eli is terribly afraid of storms..he becomes a shaking mass of Jello during them. The vet told me to put peppermint oil on his foot pads, and it would help calm him. I tried it once. He wasn’t very receptive…I found what works best is to have a “puppy party”, with treats and lots of love everytime there is thunder…Now he associates storms with a good time!

That’s a smart idea, Becky — the party, I mean! I don’t think I’d like peppermint oil rubbed on my paws, either. ;)
