   Nancy, I recommend following Lynn’s advice to read the comments on Shawn’s pick. I just did and it made me feel a WHOLE lot better! I had seen some of the comments on the first day but didn’t go back to it until this morning to read the entire thing.

   I can’t tell you how comforting it is to know that others with way more experience at beading than myself sometimes suffer from BDS and BBW too. I do the same things – go into my bead room and just stare at the beads, then walk back out, frustrated. Weird thing is, when I’m at work all I can think about is wanting to be sitting in my bead room making something.

   And Lynn, to know that you have so many beads that you could open a branch of LB in Indiana….I’m with you there with a branch in Nevada! Why do I keep buying more beads than I can make jewelry with?!?!? That is part of my BDS, the guilt I feel over having so many beads that just sit in their little baggies, crying to be taken out and made into something pretty. LOL!

   Wow! I think this is the most I have commented on LB all together. I guess this topic struck a cord.

   Wouldn’t it be grand if we could all get together and share BDS stories over some wine and cheese, and “whine”? And then ROTFLOAO!?!

I have beads all picked out to make a necklace and I just keep looking at them. I can’t seem to do anything. Sometimes it is better to not force it. When I bead I want to enjoy it.    Everybody goes through this at times. Frustrating, but it does go away. I just give up on making anything for a few days or so, and go read a book, or go for a walk or anything but try to create. The more I ‘try’, the worse the it gets, and the more blah I get about it. Hope the blahs go away soon for you.

    Lee! You are so right! I am so quilty of “buying more beads than I can make jewelry with”!!!!! I am happy to hear I am not alone in that department either. However, what is one to do about it?

    Mary, I keep telling myself “Don’t buy anymore beads for a month.”….”Ok, don’t buy any beads for a week.” …. This hasn’t worked yet because then I will see something for sale in the BGBM that I have to have! But I keep hoping…. Luckily, my husband is so happy that I have found something to obsess about that he doesn’t mind the constant stream of packages of beads arriving in the mail.

    Wow I wish I could help you ladies. I’ll come help straighten up everyone’s bead rooms and pick up off the floor. My beadies are still in 2 cookie tins. I’m getting some things made out of them and most of my beads are small so none of my designs will have the great and wonderful presence that the things you create do. I guess I will be creating in minature for a while yet. I just get so excited when I see all of your fantastic creations. So this has to pass for you all soon. I have Faith in all of you. Please don’t feel guilty. Maybe some of you create better when you feel the need to get ready for a showing. I know I see some great things come out of all of you then.

    Your creativity is still there, LRC, you just need a little inspiration to strike at the right time to bring it back out of hibernation. It happens to me too, all the time actually, and for me it can last for months at a time. I like Sheltie Mom’s idea of going out and looking for something inspiring and then designing around that. I’m sure the fact that the weather is warming up will help us all out of our slumps, too.

    Chickies, you are the greatest group. I could pay major bucks and see a shrink but reading your comments has been just as helpful. I think some gigantic CHOCOLATE THERAPY is called for. Unfortunately my consumption of sweets will have to be curtailed due to unsettling blood tests. Apparently I am prediabetic which is kinda scary as both of my sisters and one nephew have the problem. I need to get more exercise….. Maybe I’ll start training for a marathon.

    How about some wine, whine, and cheese about tea time?

    Hey LRC, I’m sorry about the preDi thing, but please don’t stress, I’m a type 2 diabetic, and I freaked out when found out, they put me on all kinds of meds, and I had to check my glucose level 6+ times a day. Come to find out, with careful planning, I’ve been able to control it with diet and excorsize, and limited medicine, no insulin, mostly diet really. You don’t have to cut out sugar completely, though I would advise diet soda over regular. Just pay attention to the total carbohydrates in what you eat, you don’t really want to go much above 40 or 50 I think it is in one sitting. If you look at the total carbs on a candy bar, then look at the same one, only sugar free, there’s not a significant difference, not enough of a difference to not eat it. Treating yourself from time to time is fine, just don’t go overboard. Taking cinnamon helps too, it’s a natural way to increase the functions needed to keep blood glucose under control. And splenda is an excellent alternate to sugar.

    Thanks for the tips, Ravin. Luckily omitting sodas doesn’t pose a challenge. I don’t particularly like them. I’m a Tea-totaler. One of the things the Dr. gave after the appointment was an out line of the Mediterranean Food Guide. He seems to feel if I make some adjustments to my diet, increase the distance I walk, do it on a more consistent basis and make sure I do it at least 5 X a week it will make a difference. Unfortunately my age is against me. I’ll be 70 years old my next B’day. Bad knee and all I may just start riding my bicycle again even if it does hurt. ARRRrrrgh! Maybe I’ll just go sit in the sunshine for a while and pout.
