Leslie W Mtn Chick says:Your comment about Seattle reminded me of one of my favorite places. I lived in Bremerton for several years and used to ride the ferry to Seattle to eat along the waterfront. I could even see the ferry, albeit for only a minute or two, through the trees in my back yard!!!

J Yee smart chick says:Leslie, thanks for your comment, I have visited Bremerton, and am thinking longingly of cool water… where do you currently live?

Leslie W Mtn Chick says:I’ve had the good fortune to live many places in the U.S., and presently live in the mountains of NC near the tourist attraction Grandfather Mountain. I’m pretty much on “top” of the mountains out here. It offers many photographic opportunities for me. I especially like to photographic wild flowers. You can usually see wildflowers in every picture I take. I just keep adding more and more pictures to my computer.

J Yee smart chick says:Leslie, I love the name of that mountain you live near in NC, hope you’ll share some of your pics of wild flowers, I bet it’s beautiful up there!

Shannon aka Silly Chick says:Sweltering pick, Joyce! I know you must be miserable in that heat
Stay hydrated! I’m sure the weather will return to its hazy, balmy self in no time! Heavy thunder and cooler temps here…I’ll enjoy it while I have it – It’ll be back to hi 90’s and drought soon! Think cool thoughts sweetie!!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:This is one very hot pick, Joyce!!! Love it!
Sorry to hear about your continuing heat wave. I’ve been watching your area on the weather channel and it looks very toasty.

J Yee smart chick says:thank you chickies… now if only we could swap a bit of weather… the GOOD aspects NOT the awful… such as sending some lovely sunshine and warmth to areas that are lacking… and sending some cooler more moderate temperatures and rain to areas that need it…

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Joyce, you should work on that — in your spare time!

Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Joyce, I’m a red fan, and you’ve hit me on the head with this pick! Sorry it’s so hot up there – doesn’t help with the humidity either! Heard you were going to have temps in the low 100’s – yikes! I’m sending you cool weather thoughts….

J Yee smart chick says:Thanks chickies – friends told me yesterday that it got to 104 degrees at Sea-Tac airport, which is south of Seattle by about half an hour’s drive depending on traffic…
… yikes…

Chicky Bear-Tara says:Your heat sounds like Kansas’ Augusts! Are you glad to have the heat? Isn’t Seattle mostly rainy? Great pick.
On Jul 31, 2009 at 7:40 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:Tara, I’m glad to have the wonderful sunshine, not the heat! our humidity levels are high here, so when it’s hot it feels really hot, and when it’s cold and damp, it really feels icy cold. Seattle is supposedly rainy a lot, last summer we had lots of rather unseasonably cool days w/ rain, go figure… we never had a “real” summer last year, this year we’re making up for that w/ a vengeance…
