Ohh, very gorgeous Ivy – hibiscus is one of my fave flowers, as it is the state flower of my home state of Hawaii – :)

Yeah, that’s right, Joyce! I always think of Hawaii when I see hibiscuses. By the way, slightly jealous of your home! :P Sarah, I’ve always wanted to try hibiscus tea. I was thinking of making my own but I’m afraid I might use some poisonous parts! lol Thanks, chicas! :D

Hey Ivy, I am smiling at your comment about being slightly jealous of Hawaii – I’m very glad you now have a little hibiscus tree to enjoy in your own home – and does hibiscus grow in other hot climates – like Cuba, for instance? I know that Cuba also has many of the same tropical fruits that Hawaii does, such as mangos, pineapples and guavas, for instance. As for hibiscus tea, dont think I have had much, but hope you’ll try some. A friend of mine here in Seattle just bought some hibicus flavored sorbet for our get together on Saturday, we enjoyed it, it was somewhat tart, and very refreshing, and a lovely pink/rose color.

Hi, Joyce! Yes, hibiscus does grow in Cuba, too, as well as all the other tropical treats you mentioned ;) Hibiscus ice cream sounds wonderful, I love trying exotic ice cream flavors. Have you ever had mung bean ice cream? My grandmother (from the Philippines) used to buy it for me a lot as a kid. It’s delicious! I believe people in Hawaii eat it as well, especially the Chinese population, am I right?
