Description from Lynn Eileen Chicky LE: Even though today is New Bead & Back in Stock Thursday, I did not realize we were dressing up for the occasion. LOL Because I am still stuck at home sick with bronchitis, I am wearing my mint green bathrobe. Across the top of the robe are embroidered flowers in darker shades of green and teal with white centers. The bright pink is for my bedroom slippers!

Hysterical comment #2: Three Lima Babies on the way…you said: Shouldn’t this be listed today under “New Additions”?
You keep me laughing, Lynn…thanks!

J Yee smart chick says:Lynn, sorry to hear you’re still at home recuperating from bronchitis, what a lovely soothing Pick, that touch of pink sure “pops” the soothing greens and blues you have here!!! Sending you good wishes for you to get better SOON!!! Hugs and XO XO!!!
Debbi, you’re making me ROTFLMAO w/ your chicken soup and chickie jokes: makes me think of one of my absolute FAv “Far Side” cartoons: it shows a sick rooster in bed, and his wife brings him a bowl of chicken soup, saying:

“Eat it Harry – #1, It’s good for you, and #2, it’s no one we know!!!
Really I’m NOT making this up!!! Wish I had a copy of it!
On Dec 10, 2009 at 8:33 pm #
J Yee smart chick says:Oh and yeah, those new LB team babies on the way, they sure should be listed under “New Additions”!!!

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:What a fun Pick!!! and great conversation too! LOL

Lynn, I am so sorry you are still feeling bad with that nasty bronchitis, and you know you have my complete and sincere sympathy. When I had bronchitis, I practically slept sitting up…it looked like I was hiding in a fort made of pillows…my hubby just watched in amazement as I carried more and more pillows from the guest room to my bed.
Think about having some chicken and dumplings when you feel a little better. That is my version of comfort food. Wish I was close enuf to make a batch for you.
I don’t know about the cannibalism thingy…maybe yes, maybe no! But it tastes so good!

Faithful Chick aka Faith says:My families comfort is home made potatoe with egg rivels. If there is any German I think in someone’s back ground you’ll know egg rivels are little bits of egg flour mixture. I make mine 1 egg broken into 1 to 1 1/2 cup flour. Stir in with a fork until crumbly soft mixture is in little bits. If there is flour mixture left in the bowl just put into the hot potatoe water while boiling stiring in gradually. Don’t let them clunk together. They swell while cooking.
Potatoe Soup
Cut up 3 or 4 good size potatoes into little tiny chunks
Cut up 1 large onion into tiny chunks also
(if your family is not into onion the smaller the better; but it definitely not the same with out onion.)
Cover with water boil until onion is clear and potatoe chunks are tender.
If there is not enough liquid that you feel the rivels will separate while cooking add enough milk and or a little water bring back to a boil.
Add flour egg mixture stiring if they were a little moist when added they will plump up like a little dumpling. Take a fork and break apart the large clumps and
cook until mixture begins to thicken. The extra flour will help this.
Add lots of butter. Salt to taste.
Enjoy.

Faithful Chick aka Faith says:If anyone decides to make this soup. Just remember it tends to grow into a bigger pot for me. I start in a six quart and sometimes move it into my 8 quart. LOL.
You can add cheddar cheese,
or ham
or (never tried but my one cousin says he thinks clams would be good in it.)
On Dec 10, 2009 at 9:22 pm #
Faithful Chick aka Faith says:I hope you are soon feeling better. Be sure to check back to your doctor, should this become a chronic condition they may suggest something like the advair disk I use each day. Helped get the elephant off my chest.
On Dec 10, 2009 at 9:41 pm #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Lynn – your robe (pick) is beautiful. I’m definitely a fan of these colors.
I do hope you’re feeling better, soon. I know bronchitis can be a XXX – I think I’ve said that before. I does tend to hang on.
On Dec 10, 2009 at 10:10 pm #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Lynn, you will overcome this!!!
I did get better and, with the encouragement of yourself and other Chicks, I bravely made the flight to see my baby graduate! LOL
But the others are also right: Do keep in touch with your doctor and be sure you get the rest and care you need.
RX: Stay in touch with the Chickies, eat good soothing foods, drink nice peppermint or mint tea, take your medicine, and… make lovely pillow forts to sleep in and take over the whole bed!

Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Okay Lynn, Why did the chicken cross the road? or What came first, the chicken or the egg? These are questions I think you may know the answers to!!! I have my ideas, but, as Chickies we should know the facts…LOL…. Please, tell us!!! BTW; I love your slippers!!!! VERY COOL!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Late breaking bulletin — The doctor’s nurse called to let me know that Monday’s chest x-ray showed I do have congestion in my lungs, but it is not pneumonia, thank goodness. I am to finish this course of antibiotics and return for another chest x-ray in 4-6 weeks. Of course, I am more than welcome to return sooner if necessary.
I love my pink slippers! I have several pair, including a pair that look like pigs.
On Dec 11, 2009 at 12:52 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Thanks for the compliments and get well wishes, Faith, Jeanne, Harriet, Sue, & Anita! I promise to take extra-good Chicky care of myself!!!
