Description from Luna Chick aka Coral: Dark, cold and whipped by supersonic winds, Neptune is the 8th and farthest planet from the sun. It takes its name from the Roman god of the sea. Like its near twin, Uranus, it is an ice giant. Neptune's blue color is the result of methane in the atmosphere.
