Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Where do you live, 3K Chick ???
On Apr 13, 2009 at 6:08 pm #
KPJEWELS says:Anita, I live in God’s country. I live in a small town (Hampton) in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. I am retired and picked up beading last July so I’m an amateur.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 6:11 pm #
Southern Chick says:3KChick is there any Ugly Part of Canada?
I’ve been all over Canada and its all stunning!

On Apr 13, 2009 at 6:18 pm #
KPJEWELS says:Southern Chick, glad you like our country. It is so peaceful and quiet in our town. Very little crime (so far) and I can walk to almost everything, grocery store, exercise gym, schools, doctor, pharmacy, bank, etc. I live in an old Church Manse that is approximately 110 year old. It is beautiful here with an acre of trees and gardens.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 6:21 pm #
Southern Chick says:3K, you are truly blessed! How is the weather there now? We’re a gorgeous flowery 70 degress. However, we will soon be wilting with humidity!
On Apr 13, 2009 at 6:30 pm #
KPJEWELS says:The temperature is one degree above freezing, feeling like minus six with the wind and it has been a very wet and weird day with rain, snow mostly and a peek of sun now and again. Tomorrow is supposed to be mainly sunny. Here’s hoping. Where do you live in such gorgeous temperatures?
On Apr 13, 2009 at 6:32 pm #
Southern Chick says:3K In NC, sort of in the middle. Not far from Raleigh/Chapel Hill…and not too far from the beach either. I go to the beach whenever I can…
On Apr 13, 2009 at 8:30 pm #
Elaine aka Belly Chick says:Hello 3KJEWELS, glad to hear from someone else from Canada. I am in Saskatchewan and I would love to visit east; I hear that it is gorgeous in the Atlantic Provinces! Our day today was beautiful; +20 for most of the day. You must be getting the weather we had yesterday.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 8:34 pm #
KPJEWELS says:Hi Elaine. I am beginning to wonder if we are ever going to get any spring in our neck of the woods. We live in God’s country down East. Come and visit.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 8:39 pm #
KPJEWELS says:Our license plates for our cars reads “The Picture Province” and it is a beautiful place. All the Maritimes are. The ocean is not far and the beaches are fantastic, especially in Prince Edward Island. You have to see the covered bridges of yesteryear and the new bridge joing New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Remarkable
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:13 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:I would love to visit Prince Edward Island. Big fan of “Anne with an E”. Read all the books to my girls when they were little.
It was a beautiful day here in Texas. Sunny, light breeze, and 73. Only problem–pecans and oaks pollinating like crazy!
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:15 pm #
Southern Chick says:Hey D…I had to get offline for awhile to watch 24 with the husband…Boy the pines and oaks are casting yellow dust everywhere here in NC. Did you finish your lesson plans?
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:19 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:Finished right after lunch. What a relief to have that off my mind! Now, I just have to remember to take the laptop back with me.
Thanks for asking. You’re off this week, right? Is it y’all’s spring break?
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:20 pm #
Southern Chick says:Yes, this is our spring break…aka Easter break…can’t say that anymore. You’ve been on a long time…Did you take a break too or have you been on all evening?
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:32 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:Oh, I’ve had several breaks…Ran to Target, took a nap, fixed supper, made a whole bunch of simple loops for a project… Realized I did something wrong on another project…
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:38 pm #
KPJEWELS says:If I may be dumb here-What is “Anne of E”? We know it as “Anne of Green Gables” or “Anne of Avonlea”. Prince Edward Island is beautiful and there is so much to do there in the summer time there is no way a person could get bored with it. You could spend your whole vacation there and still not see everything, even though it is a small province. I have been there many times and I still haven’t seen it all and I only live 3 hours away.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:43 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:Sorry, meant “Anne with an E” like she always says.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:54 pm #
KPJEWELS says:Thats Ok, I just never heard anyone speak of Anne that way before. She is an icon in this neck of the woods. Everything on the island is “Anne of Green Gables” or the new bridge between New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island – “Confederation Bridge”. The bridge is certainly a feat of building expertise. It is huge – 13 kilometres long, zigzaging across the Northumberland Strait. They have a National Park built around the Anne of Green Gables homestead now.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 10:57 pm #
Southern Chick says:One of my mom’s favorite trips after dad died, was to visit Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick…She loved Anne of Green Gables. Do you have any pictures that you could share?
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:04 pm #
KPJEWELS says:I will look into it and get back to you. It is midnight here and way past my bedtime. Goodnight everyone, see you tomorrow.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:08 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:My daughters and I love the books. The oldest always referred to her as Anne With an E. She dressed up as Anne one Halloween.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:09 pm #
Elaine aka Belly Chick says:Hello again 3KJEWELS, I’d love to travel to your neck of the woods, but I don’t see that happening any time soon. Our province is known more for it’s flatness more than anything else….you’ve probably heard the old saying about my dog running away from home and we watched him run for 5 days!! Haha. Anyway, any of the pictures I’ve seen of the Atlantic provinces are amazing!!
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:11 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Hi, D. where in Texas do you live? Ilived in Abilene for 3 years, when I was a kid!!
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:13 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:I live in Temple–halfway between Austin and the infamous Waco!
How did you come to live in Abilene?
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:22 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:My dad was in the USAF til I was 17. You live in a much prettier area then I did!!! Yeah, I was born in Illinois, when I was 7 we moved to Lincoln Neb. at 10 we moved to Abilene, 14 to Okinawa then Tri-county Calif. My dad retired, moved back to his home town, Amherst wi. finished school there, got married moved to Waupaca Wi. just about 20 mi. from Amherst.
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:24 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:Sounds like you made a round trip!
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:29 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Yup, I covered alot of territory in a short time!!! But, I love Wi. we have 4 seasons (most of the time) Sometimes, it seems like we skip spring & go right into summer. But, fall is gorgeous!!!
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:30 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Have you lived in Texas your whole life?
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:39 pm #
ChickyD aka Debra says:About 1/2 and 1/2. Native born Texan, lived here for 23 years, went to Germany to study music after graduation, got married and went back to Germany for another year. Then lived in Norfolk, VA for 3 years while he wrote his dissertation. I absolutely LOVE Virginia!!!!!!!!! Moved to Central Indiana when he became a professor at DePauw University in Greencastle (a village in the middle of corn and soy fields). I loved it there, too, but NOT the winters. Fall, yes; winter, NO. Spent a year in Freiburg (son born there) and another year in a town near Hamburg. We divorced after 15 years, and I moved back to Central Texas with the children. My goodness, that’s a long answer to a SHORT question!
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:55 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:No longer then mine!!! It’s really strange though, my mom is from Frankfort, Germany, born and raised, met my dad & moved here. My Grandfather played Cello in the Frankfort symphony orchestra!!! It’s crazy how things seem to inter-twine!!!!lol
On Apr 13, 2009 at 11:57 pm #
Anita QoG Funny Chick says:Another short reply!!!! My Aunt Gutrune lives in Hamburg!!!
On Apr 14, 2009 at 7:39 am #
ChickyD aka Debra says:Then she will know Stade, the town I lived in while in that part of the country. It’s one of my favorite places! I spent several Christmases there as a student and new bride. The pastor and his family remain close friends. They lived in a 600 year-old-house across from the church. I remember going out to the Elbe one Christmas to see the ice floes rushing past. I’ve never forgotten that!
How cool that your grandfather played Cello in the Frankfort symphony!!!!!
On Apr 14, 2009 at 10:09 am #
Southern Chick says:Good Morning Anita and D (Debbie?) I’ve been reading your history D..How are you doing this am?
