“Oh, No! I Broke It!”

Description from Little Round Chick: Last night was not a good night for me. Let me explain....... I was invited to have dinner with friends to help finish off the last of the New Year's Day feast. It was dark when I got home. The light in my car port was out so it was very dark when I turned into the drive way. In order to avoid hitting the bicycles, one Chinese red and one rosy pink, I was not paying attention as well as I should have been. All of a sudden I hear this "Whap!" "Scrunch!" OMG! I just broke the passenger side mirror OFF! I had been keyed in on the bicycles and wasn't paying attention to the post that supports the roof of the car port. All I could see was this poor little black shrouded mirror dangling by a cable. I backed up, repositioned the car properly, got out and came into the house. This morning I went out to inspect the damage.....Not only did I break the mirror loose, I scraped two layers of paint of the post and rubbed the post just hard enough to deposit the the current color, cottage white, onto the lower part of the fender along with a smear of barn red from the previous paint job. So there I was. My beautiful silver car with white and and red paint scraped from the post deposited on it and the poor little mirror dangling by a cable. At least I didn't get any of the green trim paint on it too. WAKE UP CALL!

OH NO is right! I hate it when I do stuff like that! I have almost taken off my mirrors at the pharmacy drive thru a couple times – they have a credit card machine sticking out from the wall that I’ve grazed. 8( I hope the repair won’t cost too much, it would stink if it dipped into your bead budget.

Luckily some of my jewelry sales will cover the cost with a bit left over. I’m just glad I didn’t knock the post down.

Would you feel any better is I fessed up and told you that I did this to my car — not once, but twice!!! — pulling into our 2-car garage on the righthand side? Needless to say, I now park on the lefthand side of our 2-car garage, so I can see what I am trying not to hit!!!YIKES!!!

Sorry for your car woes, LRC. I hope it isn’t too costly. You did get a great pick arrangement out of it, though! ;)

Don’t think having a carport “hat” would be a good look for your car. I’m glad the post held up too!

I hate it when that happens! Don’t you feel like you must have zero brains left? Hope your repair won’t cost you an arm and a leg – at least the post will only need a new coat of paint! What a drag, to have to pay for repairs instead of buying new beads! ;-)

    BTW, love your pick! :D

Oh LRC…. that’s terrible…. but … I am glad that you were not hurt…. cars and posts can be replaced… but most importantly you are o.k.
    Beautiful pick !!!
