Description from Science Chick Runs Sibes: On a recent trip to Arizona, we (DH and the Sibes) did some trailrunning along the course of the Zane Grey 50-mile trail run. Beneath the Mogollon Rim, I spotted pink/beige sandstone with lichen in shades of green ranging from minty to darkest. I've tried to recreate that combination here.

It’s been a busy time at the design bench, getting my website designed and up, training on the trails, and working to keep a nonprofit afloat in financially trying times. On the design front I have to crow a bit…I had a design make it into the “semi-finals” at Bead Style magazine. Check it out in the upcoming June issue. AND, vote for me (she says shamelessly)!
On the subject of this design–I’m on a mission to find exactly the right match to the sandstone I saw the lichen on. I couldn’t take a sample of the rock with me as I was running in a National Forest at the time.
