“Oral Presentation :(”

Description from Luv2bead - Little Chick: Last week I prepared my oral presentation for history (so I wouldn't have to do it this week and boy am I glad because I was tied up writing my essay for English)!!! I had to do this last quarter. I was so scared (because it was the first time I actually had to stand up in front of people)! It ended up going great except I was 15 seconds short when it came to time (which was supposed to be 5 min). Now tomorrow I have to do the same thing...but once again I'm really nervous (even though it was fine last time)!!!! I have a feeling I won't get much sleep tonight! :(

Nicole, congrats on preparing for your presentation ahead of time and practicing – that 15 seconds is not long at all, compared to your overall time of five minutes – just stretch out your comments a bit here and there, you’ll have five minutes unless it has to be exactly five minutes. BTW, LOVE the rich deep blues, cream and coppers, very beautiful Pick in just two lines!!! 8O
    Go Nicole!!! 8)

Thanks Chicks!!!!!!!!! It has to be 5-10 minutes (I’d prefer to sit down and stop talking as soon as possible though…maybe 5 minutes 15 seconds?? ;) )!!!!

If you have to spend exactly 5 min does it have to be on the subject or could you add a few spontaneous comments on thank you for your kind attention, I appreaciate your listening to my commentary. Or just remember to talk a little slower next time. We tend to rush what we say when we are nervous. By the way I am sure you did fine and will do even better next time. Good luck. Get some sleep. It will help you if you are less tired. (Frankly I know how you feel)
I took a speach class one year in high school and I am still not comfortable in front of crowds.

Beautiful pick by the way. I’ve got to learn to do that first.

    Very pretty pick!!! ;)

Maybe if you just think of the audience as beads waiting for you to design???? LOL :D
Seriously, you can do this, and if it helps, you might work on developing a serious Texas drawl when you speak. That will gain you some extra seconds. ;)

Yay!!! I did 5 min. 48 sec!!!! My voice sounded kinda weird because it was a little dry but that was the only problem (I hope no one noticed but me!) :D Several classmates told me I did WELL!!! :D

Sorry I didn’t comment before the speech to give you encouragement, but I happy that it went well! I think you can do anything you set your mind to, and just look at the gorgous pick all that angst led to!!! Awesome pick from an awesome Little Chick! :D
