Description from Luv2bead - Little Chick: Last week I prepared my oral presentation for history (so I wouldn't have to do it this week and boy am I glad because I was tied up writing my essay for English)!!! I had to do this last quarter. I was so scared (because it was the first time I actually had to stand up in front of people)! It ended up going great except I was 15 seconds short when it came to time (which was supposed to be 5 min). Now tomorrow I have to do the same thing...but once again I'm really nervous (even though it was fine last time)!!!! I have a feeling I won't get much sleep tonight! :(

J Yee smart chick says:Nicole, congrats on preparing for your presentation ahead of time and practicing – that 15 seconds is not long at all, compared to your overall time of five minutes – just stretch out your comments a bit here and there, you’ll have five minutes unless it has to be exactly five minutes. BTW, LOVE the rich deep blues, cream and coppers, very beautiful Pick in just two lines!!!

Or just remember to talk a little slower next time. We tend to rush what we say when we are nervous. By the way I am sure you did fine and will do even better next time. Good luck. Get some sleep. It will help you if you are less tired. (Frankly I know how you feel)
I took a speach class one year in high school and I am still not comfortable in front of crowds.

Seriously, you can do this, and if it helps, you might work on developing a serious Texas drawl when you speak. That will gain you some extra seconds.
