My grandma canned and pickled everything, too. Her pickled beets were tart sweet, not too bad, but I just couldn’t get past the fact that they were beets! I couldn’t stand when my mom cooked beets her way and that ruined that.

OK Jacki says:I’m with Coral & Becky…the smell of beets and the taste of beets were never for me (ranked right up there to cooked spinich). BUT, the color is divine. And love your pick. Thanks for bringing back the summer memories…where we had to garden & can or we wouldn’t eat. It’s become almost a lost art i’m afraid.
