Deb D Grammy Chick says:That is an awesome pick, and so is your pick! You did an excellent job of representing the beautiful praying mantis.
Once when I was a kid, my younger brother caught a praying mantis and put it into a jar in his room. When my mother discovered it, she told him that it was illegal to kill one, and that if he kept it in the jar it would die. Well, my brother took it outside and let it go, but put the jar with the grass and twigs on the basement steps. A few days later we went on vacation, and when we got back there were baby praying mantises everywhere you looked! We spent weeks scooping them out of the house!

Cuban Queen Crazy Chick says:WOW! What an awesome picture! Looks like poster-quality, maybe you could sell it as a print!
Btw, I love how you combined the apple green turquoise with the brass pieces.

Elaine aka Belly Chick says:Gorgeous picture and a beautiful pick to show it off!!! Ivy is right…it would make a stunning poster. Your husband should try sending to some nature magazines and see what happens!!

Purple Chick aka Violet says:Thank you everyone. My husband says thanks too.
He has been thinking about making greeting cards with some of his photos. But posters are also an excellent idea!!!
He has some spectacular photos of our trip to Africa.
I agree Elaine , I have been telling him he should send them to magazines.
Thanks again for all your wonderful comments.!!!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:WOW!!! What an amazingingly real photograph, Violet!!! If your hubby isn’t a photographer, he should be one!!! He definitely should “shop” this and his other photos around.
BTW, your pick to illustrate the praying mantis is terrific! Love the colors, especially the Apple Green Turquoise with the brass! Great choice!
Say, Violet, you could design jewelry pieces to sell with hubby’s photos!

Purple Chick aka Violet says:Thanks Lynn for all your wonderful comments. No, my hubby isn’t a professional photographer, it’s just something he likes to do. That’s a great idea to make jewelry to match his photos, I’ll have to try that. !!!!

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Great pick, and I really enjoy your husband’s photos too!
I think if you sell your work, it would be fun to have a copy of his photo in your display, so people would see your inspiation. LOL

Purple Chick aka Violet says:Thanks Harriet, that’s a great idea too!
It would be fun to have the photos beside the jewelry.
I think all this encouragement is helping to give him more
confidence.

Purple Chick aka Violet says:Thank you Jill, and Valentine Chick.
FareyGoth Chick, Sarah, no need to scream…. this bug is actually a very nice bug.
Although I am not a huge fan of bugs…..this one eats all the bad bugs {pests} in the garden,,,,,,, so it’s very helpful to me.
Everytime I see it, I feel peaceful and it always looks like its’ praying for my garden to grow… and with the heat we have been having lately… the garden can use all the prayer it can get!!! Some rain wouldn’t hurt either!! LOL!!!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Violet, I really like Harriet’s idea of having your hubby’s photos on display next to the jewelry pieces that you created. You can always strike up a conversation with potential customers over the jewelry, the photo, or both — maybe selling the jewelry, the photo, or both!

Purple Chick aka Violet says:Thanks Lynn, that is a great idea, and one that we are working on. He has so many photos that inspire me. When we get some finished, I’ll post them. Thanks for all the ideas and encouragement. It is so helpful.!!!!
