Description from pencespovrmoyedv: Merriam-Webster's definition of a living fossil: an organism (as a horseshoe crab or a ginkgo tree) that has remained essentially unchanged from earlier geologic times and whose close relatives are usually extinct. Some of this pick are definitely extinct but I wanted to include some living fossils as well! My 7 year old loves dinosaurs and fossils and he has most certainly piqued my interest anew!
