“Purple Warning”

Description from Granny Nancy: I have purple wave beads that I want to make something with so thought it would be fun to try things out like I did with the larimar blue agate. I'm about ready to start on that one.

I wanted to try some blue with this project but there was no blue crystal so I used some faceted iolite and some other rondelles and some bronze. Not sure whether to use bronze or the brighter brass.

But I do love purple and the "right" shade of dark blue combined - but with the dominant color being purple in this case. Again, fun with beads.

WOW! I particularly like the lapis with the purple wave. They are both bright and shiny. The iolite and kyanite are a bit subdued. The purple wave needs a fellow stone that can hold it’s own… Does that make sense?

Yes Bella, I have some purple faceted AB rondelles in my stash that will work well with the purple wave. L.B. did not have ANYTHING at all like that in purple.

I’ll attach a picture as I finish each of these. I want to get them done before my cataract surgery.

Lovely colors! I prefer the bronze you have here, rather than a shiny brass, with these purples. :)

Thanks for that response as I really was leaning towards the bronze. I think it will be richer looking. I don’t want to use a lot of blue just a touch and then some purple ABs but L.B. just doesn’t have anything like that right now.

Lovely! I agree about the blues- the small lapis rondelle would be a perfect addition to pull the dark blue wave from the agates. I can’t wait to see what you make!

Ooohh, what a gorgeous experiment with the strong purple wave beads, plus touch of darker blue lapis and blue/purple iolite with brass, looking forward to the pics from what you’re making with this!! 8O

The bronze with the Lapis will tie it together wonderfully! As you said, just a bit of the blue should do. This should be gorgeous!

What a striking combination! Personally, I think I’d use antique brass to warm up the palette a bit.

You couldn’t go too wrong combining anything in your pick ! I particularly like the kyanite (but then my hand always goes to the most expensive thing on the table) or the iolite with the purple wave. Like the others, I’m eager to see what you create – - -

I’m w/ Crazy Beader. Love everything in your pick, but my eyes were immediately drawn to the Iolite w/ the purple wave. I’m sure whatever combo you go with, you’ll not go wrong…it’s all divine!

Thanks again everyone. I have so many issues to deal with right now with nursing old kitties. And, spent hours outside last night as someone worked on my garage door. But its finally fixed (hopefully). But being outside made me feel like a truck had run over me during the night. Oh man. I need more pain meds, my morning meds(late) have worn off. Anyway, even I can’t wait to see what I do with all this.

And….I have a strand of the graduated lined purple agate as well. I’m chomping at the bit to get at that.
