Red Porcelain Jasper Beads

If you pulled one of these beads from the ground, you might think it was a hand-fired porcelain! Red Porcelain Jasper gemstone beads have such unique visual texture, due to their composition of brecciated jasper. Brecciated jasper forms when fragments of stone meld together over time.

This stone has inclusions of hematite, giving it a red and dark banded appearance. Jasper is a combination of chalcedony and quartz, and has been used in jewelry and decorative arts for thousands of years. It was often the stone of choice among Ancient Minoan, Egyptian, and Sasanian (Persian) Empires. The name Jasper comes from old French, jaspre, meaning “speckled stone”. Red Porcelain Jasper is mined in Mexico.

Metaphysically, Red Porcelain Jasper is said to promote organization, facilitate nurturing behaviors, and benefit healing.
