Description from Chicky Bear-Tara: It's 9/11.
Patriot Day.
My radio station played newscasts from 09/11/2001,
which brought some tears this morning.
Such a strong memory
of sadness and fright.
But, there is brightness
in the heroic acts
of the heroes of that time.
Bittersweet is not the word,
but pride in people
and in America
is in the mix of all the feelings.

Chicky Bear-Tara says:It is a horrible day. Did your family lose someone that day? I remember the shock of hearing about all the people that were in the buildings. The way the newscasters were so so upset…it was a hard day and I still fight the feeling of helplessness and fear and sadness that occurs when remembering. My family was fortunate to have not lost anyone that day. I could not imagine what the families that did lose people went through.

Bella Chick aka Chill says:A fine tribute…I work with a lady who moved to SC from NYC and worked in a childcare program several blocks fromwhere several parents died in the World Trade Center…her recollections of that day, and the parents who never returned are so moving and so unforgettable…thanks, Tara…

Deb D Grammy Chick says:Such a perfect pick to represent such a horrific day, Chicky Bear. Whether we lost a family member, a friend, a co-worker or our simple illusions of peace, we will always carry a memory of that day. But along with the horror, we should always remember the bravery of those patiotic Americans who put themselves in harms way to aid those in peril. Thank you, Tara, for your pick, your poem, and your pride in our country.

Valentine Chick says:Yes thank you Tara. And what an awful memory of that day it was. We were at school and remember seeing it on tv we teachers were scared to death. We watched it on our lunch break. The kids fortunately had no idea what was goin on but to try to keep the tears from coming and the horrified looks off of our faces b/c we didn’t know what was goin to happen was just simply awful! Bless all those who lost lives and loved ones… May we NEVER have to witness anything like that again.
