Description from Cathy H Chocolate Chick: This is to honor a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan last week. He was 19 and was a classmate of my daughter from K thru high school.Our town is in shock and disbelief. He will be missed! May he rest in peace.

Our small town lost a young man last year to the war. Something like that brings far off turmoil so close to home. Too close in fact. A bittersweet reminder of our loved one’s sacrifices for our freedom.
Thank you for the tribute. And the reminder NOT to take where we live for granted!

I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s so difficult to think of any of our boys dying over there. I know its even harder when its someone you know.
I feel fortunate that my son has came home twice from Iraq with no major injuries or even death. I know hes lost some of his squadmates the second time around and it has affected him. His wife tells me he has nightmares still. I wish all of our boys were home safe and with their families.
