Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Gasp! Love this! Love the colors, the textures and shapes! So earthy & natural and a great visual to create that garden feel! Straight to my Favs!
Weren’t those cute little buggers the neatest things to peak a child’s curiosity? (Well, they did for me anyway.) I loved watching them & playing with them as a child.

Chicky Red-haired Grammy says:Okay, so I am illiterate – what are roly-polys? Are you talking about the ‘hippodrome’ insects? Did you seriously play with them?
Please advise!!

NY Bella says:I love your pick! But hate slugs!
On Aug 27, 2011 at 8:52 am #
Eeka Mouse says:Another colloquial name for the ‘roly-poly’ is ‘pillbug’; I;m not sure what it’s formal na,e is. They tend to roll up in a ball when messed with, sortof like an armadillo. When not rolled up, they scurry around on many legs. They are small, 6 – 8mm long.

Janet Miriam says:I LOVED watching the roly polys when I
was a kid! This is a great earthy pick! I really like the mix of stones and beads. You must not live in the Pacific Northwest! if you did, you would NOT like slugs!!
On Sep 08, 2011 at 5:35 pm #
Eeka Mouse says:No, no, no… it’s not the slugs that I like… it’s the beads that look a little slug-like! Slugs are slimy and disgusting!
On Sep 08, 2011 at 6:35 pm #
Chicky Red-haired Grammy says:We called them ‘hippodromes’.
