Oh and yes, I do use A&W root beer, it’s the best for floats!

    CAS says:

They really were frosted mugs too. They kept them in a fridge so they’d be all cold and frosty when they came out, heaven … sigh …

    Salt/sugar combo! Where? Where? Yummy!

I totally agree! When I was 5, I remember going to the drive-in with my parents, and getting my very own frosted mug of A& W root beer.
Thanks for the neat pick, and the memories. :-)

Wow… That is so cool CAS and Harriet! I think I was born in the wrong time. lol I love the frosted mug idea. I wish they still did that now. But that’s ok, I can do it myself at home. :)

You are welcome… I hope you guys are enjoying the variety of chips as well. We have plain, kettle baked, cheddar, and BBQ. :D

My favorite chips are Dark chips, so yummy! I can find them easily in PA when I visit my sister, but the closest I can come to here in NH is Old Cape Cod Robust Russets. But, then again, I’ve never met a chip I wouldn’t eat.

Vee, this is such a cute and clever pick! Thanks for the variety of “chips” to enjoy! Thanks, too, for the great memories of A & W drive-ins, frosted mugs of their delicious icy cold root beer, car hops…….. Sigh….. :D

Thanks Lynn! You are welcome. :D

I love root beer floats so much that I make them at home as much as possible, and I use A&W root beer, it’s the best for floats in my opinion!

Wow, I keep hearing about these frosted mugs and drive-ins. I think I was born in the wrong time lol. ;)

May I be so impolite as to ask how old you are Vee? I’ll be $* next Sunday.

Christine, wherever did you find car hops? I’ve got a few years on you and I don’t remember them except on Happy Days. Although I certainly do miss the drive-in!

Great pick Vee. the mica quartz is perfect!!! I can just taste that vanilla ice cream all crystallized floating on the root beer :D

Yummy pick!!! I agree with everyone!!!

The A&W in West Lebanon, NH had car hops until about 1968 or so. What impressed me the most (and most likely why I remember so well) was that the parking area was on a hill, I never figured out how they didn’t keep from rolling down into the road.

I love the Mica Quartz too!!

CAS, it is ok to ask! I am 35. I have been into crystals for about 5 years and creating gemstone jewelry as a hobby for 3 years.

    How fun is that, Christine!

I was in a burger place tonight and almost ordered a root beer float!!! But thought twice at the price. I can just as easily make it at home. Besides, I was all full up on cheeseburger and tater tots LOL

    CAS says:

You have to beware of those tater tots, Jeanne, they can sneak up on you, and before you know it … FULL! :D
