“Sadie Goes Ghost-Hunting”
Description from Karokat: Sadie, a miniature long-haired dachshund, decides to go hunting for ghosts. She digs her way out of her yard and runs through the trees behind her house, then crawls under the fence and into the graveyard. That's where ghosts hang out, right? She encounters two black cats and a raven on a branch, but no ghosts. She continues further into the graveyard, and suddenly a ghost jumps out at her! Boo! But Sadie isn't scared. She knows that the scent of over-ripe cucumbers means that the ghost is really a little green goblin in a costume. "I'm hunting for REAL ghosts!" Sadie tells the goblin, who looks a bit nervous once he realizes that Sadie isn't afraid of him. "Want to come along?" Sadie asks the goblin. So little GG (Green Goblin) joins Sadie in her ghost-hunt.
Continuing on, they see nothing until a black bat swoops down in front of them. Sadie, unafraid, politely asks the bat if he's seen any ghosts. The bat answers in his tiny squeaky voice, telling them to ask the great horned owl where the ghosts are. Sadie and GG eventually find the owl, and he immediately asks, "Who?". "We're hunting for ghosts," Sadie explains, and the great horned owl tells them that the ghosts are hiding in the pumpkin patch. Sadie and GG run toward the pumpkin patch, and sure enough, there are two ghosts sitting on pumpkins! GG is scared and hides behind a tree, but Sadie dashes toward the ghosts, barking excitedly. The ghosts take one look at the noisy little furball bouncing toward them with its ears flapping wildly, and they scream in horror and vaporize.
Sadie snickers to herself and trots home with a smug little swagger to her step. "It's true", she says to herself. "Everyone is afraid of dachshunds, even ghosts!"
