Thanks, Lynn Eileen. I’ve been following the oil spill and had to use the Boston Globe’s pictorial for inspiration–particularly the brown lace agate:

Such a terrible event but you’ve come up with beautiful representation of it. The Lace Agates and the Rhyolite look just like oil spreading on water.

Such a tragedy for the environment as well as the lively hood of the people affected. I certainly hope they can get it under control ASAP.
This is a beautiful pick though. And a very good representation of the spill.
    Love the stones you chose.

Thanks, CIA and Sweet Chick. For the compliments. I felt I had to immortalize my feelings in a FP. I’ve strolled those white sand beaches and marveled at the wetlands/marshes along the Gulf Coast. I’ve relished the local shrimp and oysters. I’m sick thinking about the devastation to the livelihood of the shrimpers and fishermen and to the environment (potentially for decades).

Just a beautiful representation of such a horrific situation. I cried through those pictures…it’s just awful…For certain going into my faves. I didn’t even kow about the spill as I dont have a working television, nor do I get the newspaper, stopped getting it when it kept getting stolen…

Ravin, Your response to those pictures was the same as mine. I can’t count the tissues I went through.
