Description from Claire C: From the desert to the mountains, from sea to sea, Safari Girl travels throughout the world seeking exotic adventures, collecting vivid impressions of the seasons and terrains of the globe. She feels the sun on her face and the rain in her hair. All the winds and waters, rocks and clouds move around and above her, painting memories of tint, tone, shade and texture to be emulated in gemstone creations yet to be, the real souveniers from the journey, inspired from spectacular Natural settings.

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Clever pick and great story, Claire! Have you ever considered a career in writing fiction?
On Apr 07, 2011 at 1:55 am #
Claire C says:Lynn, first, this is not entirely fiction! I have described my own experience. But I would love to write fiction. You have recognized a goal of mine. I know enough about creative writing to appreciate the difficulty of being more than mediocre. To me reading good writing is like listening to the best music. Even the sound of the words can sometimes be compared, as in poetry. The written word is the most miraculous invention devised by Man, responsible for our survival, providing a foundation of ideas, inventions and historical lessons for the present and future. Too bad some of our political leaders are not more literate, or they would not repeat the past mistakes. They are writing fiction at the moment. I could never have thought of a more creative way to describe printing money than “valuation easement”, which they get away with because few people understand what that means.

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Claire, how exciting that this is based on personal experience!
You truly do have a gift for writing — I hope you are able to pursue it one day!
