Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Wow, Sue, I’d be surprised, too — especially if it looked as beautiful as this!!! What a gorgeous combo of colors!!! A fave for sure!
How much snow and did it stay around for awhile?
On Sep 05, 2009 at 1:34 am #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Thanks, Lynn!
Can’t tell how much snow – it was still there when the sun went down. See the mountains behind my profile pic? That’s what I was looking at! We’ll see how long it lasts tomorrow – it’s supposed to be another beautiful day!

K H says:Great pick, but let’s just keep that snow up in the mountians for awhile. The summer went way too fast and I am not ready to start digging snow off of my driveway!!!!
On Sep 05, 2009 at 2:23 am #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:K H, I’m with you! Where did the summer go??
On Sep 05, 2009 at 9:21 am #
Deb D Grammy Chick says:Oh, please, let’s not even mention snow! It might be September, but I’m still not ready to give up summer! Gorgeous pick, Sue…I’d love to have that view…the colors are awesome!
On Sep 05, 2009 at 2:31 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Don’t you just envy Sue that view she has every single day?!?!?! I know, there’s probably something in the Beader’s Commandments about this one, too…..LOL
On Sep 06, 2009 at 2:28 am #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Thank you, Deb! I’m not ready to give up summer either – up here at 9000 ft, we could get snow at anytime!
Lynn, I think there was a rule in the Beader’s Commandments – but I think it had to do with beads only!
Here’s a closer pic of those mountains – but not with the snow we got yesterday…

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:So I won’t burn for eternity if I covet your view?
Thanks for the gorgeous photo, Sue!!! Sigh…..now I have my own little mountain top to look at every single day…..

Purple Chick aka Violet says:Wow, I love this pick and I love the picture of the mountains.!
It looks so nice… especially since it is so hot down here in Southern Cal.
But… actually… when I look out my window…..I have snow on the mountain too.!!!!………. but …..it’s not quite the same…. it is just a plant in my garden called Snow on the Mountain…… although it is lovely….but not very cooling…. wish you could blow some of that snow our way!!!! LOL!!!!!
On Sep 06, 2009 at 2:43 am #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Lynn, you won’t burn…well, that’s not true – the sun is much stronger here! And the air is thinner!
Violet, many thanks! I’ve been hearing it’s miserable in CA – how are the wildfires? Wish i could grow snow on the mountain up here (you would think, wouldn’t you?? who named that plant, anyway???). if i could grow it, the deer would just eat it anyway – they are such piggies!
On Sep 06, 2009 at 2:51 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:You did notice I’m wearing my sun glasses on my smiley face, didn’t you, since the sun is stronger there? LOL
On Sep 06, 2009 at 2:55 am #
Purple Chick aka Violet says:Sue, I’ve heard that about deer! LOL.
I don’t know who named it…. but it certainly intrigued me when I saw it at a local nursery. I had never seen it before but just had to have it!! It grows beautifully here. I just love it!
As for the wildfires, they have been bad. It’s so sad. We have a mountain between us a the wildfires but the smoke billows up and over, so we see it constantly. And we have to be careful not to be outside for too long at a time because of the smoke.
As for the heat, they say it should be better by next weekend.
I sure hope so!!! I can’t wait!
On Sep 06, 2009 at 3:06 am #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Lynn, hope you are also wearing sunscreen! LOL!
Violet, I can’t even imagine how bad it must be there – we’ve got the smoke from your fires here, believe it or not – makes for some spectacular sunsets, but the sky is hazy during the day. I’ll be praying for rain coming your way!
On Sep 06, 2009 at 3:11 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Violet, I’m so sorry about the wildfires in your area. I’ll pray for rain and an end to the fires; also, for everyone to be safe!
On Sep 06, 2009 at 3:12 am #
Purple Chick aka Violet says:Lynn, that’s what I was going to remind you too. The sunglasses are a great start, but don’t forget the sunscreen!!! LOL!!!!!
Wow, I can’t believe the smoke is reaching all the way to you!!!
I knew it was going into AZ . Thanks for your prayers…. we sure need it. The fires are only 49% contained as of late this afternoon. They say it will be several more days before it’s out.
Unless of course we will get a good rain. !!! Thanks again for your prayers.
On Sep 06, 2009 at 3:13 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Sue, no worries about the sunscreen — can’t you tell by my photo that I never go outdoors without at least an SPF of 200?
On Sep 06, 2009 at 3:19 am #
Purple Chick aka Violet says:Lynn , you are too funny! LOL! !
Thanks again to both you and Sue for your prayers.
Goodnight….again…..this time I’m really going to bed……

Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Goodnight, Violet! Sweet beading dreams!

Mary S AKA Sweet Chick says:BEAUTIFUL PICK!!!
And tell me more about the mountains from your porch!! I AM SO JEALOUS!!!
What range or Peaks are we looking at? Just wondering if they might be some that we’re familiar with.
On Sep 06, 2009 at 12:01 pm #
Deb D Grammy Chick says:Thanks for that gorgeous pic of your beautiful mountains. We do have mountains here in PA, of course, but nothing as dramatic as yours (at least not where I live!).
Best wishes!
I, too, am praying for all of you out in CA…I can’t even imagine how frightening it must be! We’ve had so much rain in the past few weeks…I wish I could have sent some to you
On Sep 06, 2009 at 12:04 pm #
Deb D Grammy Chick says:That last part was directed to Violet, should have mentioned tha…is there a smiley for “goofy”, “sheepish”, “UhOh”…
On Sep 06, 2009 at 1:29 pm #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:Thank you, Mary and Deb! I do feel blessed to be living up here!
Mary, you are looking at the Sangre de Christo Range in S Central CO – I’m sure you know them!
Deb, I already figured you were talking to Violet – we’ve had more rain here than we typically do this time of year – wish we could send it to CA too!
