“Sodalite Necklace #2”

Description from Granny Nancy: I tried a variety of combos but I do like the picture jasper with antique brass. Plus I added a touch of sparkle with some champagne CZs. There's also some bluestone in there. As a pick, this isn't that great but was helpful in thinking thru the design I might be happiest with.

I like this one more Nancy, and I also like the matte picture jasper more then the regular ones. The Vintaj is also a much better choice, if you are wanting browns with it. But then what do I know.

I like this one better too Nancy. I like the softer brown that lets the sodalite be the main color.
Perhaps what’s bothering you is the strong patterning in the picture jasper. I like the color, but the pattern in the jasper (which is pretty!) seems to fight with the pattern in the sodalite. Does that make sense???
Don’t give up. I really like the brown and blue combo. And you are helping me think through what I have and might be able to use. :)

Agree that the picture jasper may be a better choice, Nancy – - it depends on what the background color is in the sodalite. In this pick, the rectangles look like they really match the jasper. Have you considered pearls ??? Freshwater irregular pearls might work with the sodalite, too – - -

Smokey quartz or bronznite might also look good with it, but it might make it too dark for what you are wanting.

Perhaps leave out the jasper and use just a bit of sparkle from champagne colored crystal and use brass eye pins and beads. I also have faceted 4mm solid blue agate.

I agree with the jasper patterning fighting with the varying colors in the sodalite. Jasper probably would work better within solid colors. My sodalite is a combo of faceted rondelles and some nuggets. Using brass chain might help. I was going to use silver with the blue but….

Ah, about time to lay it out to see it for real. Thanks everyone.

I like this one better, too. I think you could get away with matte picture jasper but the sodalite would need to not have too much mottled/patterned color. I think brass and tan/browns rather than dilver is the way to go.
