Happy Chick aka Harriet says:I have heard of community bulletin boards where upcoming events are advertised. Sometimes they are on the local internet site for your city, or on a radio station.
I know there are periodicals like what we call Thrifty Nickle newspaper, where you can advertise personal sales. Those can help with planned sales events in more public venues, like a rented hall.
You have to be really careful, tho’ about letting people you don’t know come to sales at your home. Have heard thru’ grapevine, that’s not a great idea anymore.
