Description from TJ C: The South Shore Nature Preserve is one of the most lovely places on Long Island:

Among other things, the actual building houses a portion of a honeybee hive, with a transparent tunnel leading to the outdoors. You can see the bees flying to and fro, and creeping through the tunnel to a glass box full of their fresh honeycomb.
Their actual hives are located in a "honeybee garden" and they travel to the "butterfly garden" as well, buzzing and gathering pollen.
Come April, I am looking forward to visiting the walking trails once again... to watch the bees and all the other wildlife... as they watch me!
