ChickyD aka Debra says:She’s amazing. She used to be so SHY. Because of her shyness, her dad signed her up for Wilderness Orientation at her school, Earlham College in Richmond, IN. By the end of the 27 days, she had a great circle of close friends and had learned how strong she can be. It also doesn’t bother her one bit to go 1 month without a shower or tp. Myself, I prefer indoor plumbing.
Her dad and I met as graduate students in Germany. Then he became a music professor, and we, as a family, had the opportunity to travel quite a bit. We would go to Germany on sabbatical. One year we were resident directors of the university’s Freiburg program. My son was born while we were there. After the divorce, he spent a couple of semesters in India, and the 2 girls went to visit him there. In fact, he just got back from another trip to India last week. We’ve been fortunate, indeed, to experience different cultures.
