Candied sweets. That was pretty easy. I make them a day ahead so they’re saturated with syrup.. yum!
Should be cleaning up the kitchen. but it’s much nicer to sit on the front porch and chat :)

Jeanne! this is gorgeous! – and I am not an orange person. Love this!!!!!!!
    - I don’t have much a sweet tooth (except chocolate & natural fruit), so not a big sweet potato w/marshmallow person. We had a lunch catered at work about a year ago, the sweet potatoes were savory, with herbs, garlic & onions – oh my gosh! heaven! I’ve tried several times to duplicate at home, getting closer – so so good – ok, again, has little to do with ANYTHING but had to throw it in there.

-I may run to the store for turkey and sweet potatoes – thanks Jeanne! like I need to stinking heat up the house when it is going to 86 degrees ;)

Those savory sweet potatoes sound delicious. No marshmallows on my sweets – just lot of brown sugar and corn syrup. All ya need is a couple of bites.

Midnight on the East coast. I’m here and see the new featured pick come up – too late to go to the store – too late even to get a pizza and what comes up?! The delicious pick from last weekend! Makes me crave turkey and yams! Yeah, I’m weird – I don’t crave desert. I DO crave turkey…… go figure……cannot explain. Anyway! Still love this! Congrats Jeanne! it’s a beaut!

Jeanne, Congratulations on being chosen as Pick of the Day!!! This looks beautiful and delicious at the same time! Love the antique jasper and copper together. Like Mary, I’m not a big fan of orange, but it really works here & I like it. :-)

Love the sound of Jeanne’s & Mary’s recipes for yams, too!

Thank you ladies! As someone said previously, it is fun to see your pick featured! And I may have to break down and get some orange, even if it isn’t something I wear. I have the mad. carnelian puff coins and they are beautiful. The faceted nuggets certainly are intriguing. And I have been wanting some of that rich antique jasper. uh oh – I think I’m in trouble…

Great job on the pick! I love the Madagascar Carnelian when it is used with the copper. It is a superior combination!

Congratulations on your featured pick–Really pretty!
Btw. my family likes it when I add a little maple syrup to the candied yams.
