Lovely pick. I’m becoming more attached to brown, the more I see it, but I don’t drink coffee though. Yuck!

I like plain coffee with creamer, but right now, I like the caramel flavored coffee w/ creme brulee’ creamer. Very decadent and great as an iced coffee on hot days. I blame it all on Starbucks, but mine is much less expensive and much more convenient. I live over 10 miles from the nearest Starbucks. ;)

    Thanks 3K Chick.

How about if you pretend this is hot cocoa, 3K Chick? Would that be better?

That does sound better, Harriet! I’m not a coffee drinker either, although it always smells sooooo good! I love tea instead. This pick is gorgeous — love the browns and creams together! :D

Harriet – Lovely browns! I have so many brown beads, then I don’t know what to do with them!

Coffee, yum! I’m a sweet coffee person, and I like mine cool to cold. Actually the perfect way is a little coffee in my milk! But sweet & rich is so yummy too!

Lynn, I’m a green tea drinker too! Nothing fancy, Celestial Seasonings or Bigelow – with mint. CS had a chai that I liked but can’t find any more :(

Ladies, thank you for the kind comments a couple days ago on Emerald City! Lynn, you were right, I was gone & didn’t know till last night! I did answer back on the pick, and am sorry I didn’t get to visit then!

Lori, we’ve missed you!!! So glad you got to find out (belatedly) that you were the Pick of the Day! I kept wondering if you would sneak down in the middle of the night to try and use the computer where you were staying! ROTFL ;-)

Mmmmm….coffee; can’t live without it! Our annual Christmas treat is Bailey’s Irish Creme. We buy a vat of it in November and drink with our coffee almost every day till the end of December. But not in the mornings…just so you all don’t think we drink a lot!! :-D

  12. Elaine aka Belly Chick
    Elaine aka Belly Chick says:

    BTW…very rich, decadent pick! :-)

Hi Lynn! I would have if I could! They’re under lock & key in Omaha! & we weren’t at the motel long enough to play there either.

I snuck a look on Monday night, but just for a couple minutes! Sigh..

Elaine, we bought a medium size bottle of Kahlua @ Christmas to take to my Mom’s. My sister & mom & I will have a couple glasses with milk in the evening. My brother came from NY, and in ONE night it was empty!!! I couldn’t believe it!!! That lasts us all week! He did get another, but slurped up most of it too. We didn’t get any more till he left!

  14. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

UNDER LOCK & KEY?!?!?! Were you staying at the CIA headquarters? LOL ;-)

Elaine, Bailey’s Irish Creme is my favorite drink of all time!!!!!! Are you sure we aren’t long lost twins separated at birth? LMAO :D

  15. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

    Good plan, Lori. ;)

You were just protecting him from himself! LOL :-)

  16. DOG Chick aka Angela
    DOG Chick aka Angela says:

I do not understand how anyone can live without coffee! I have already told my doc that they will get my coffee cup out of my cold dead hands! Add a little Bailey’s or Kahlua and every thing’s great!

  17. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

Have you ever tried Butter Shots? Sweet butterscotch flavor, good on the rocks or wonderful drizzled on ice cream! Yum! ;)

  18. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

    That works, too, Angela.

    KPJEWELS says:

Yes Harriet, especially Tim Horton’s hot chocolate. Well ladies, now to get some beauty sleep (I need lots, believe me) tee hee Good Night all, talk to you tomorrow.

  20. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Hey, Lori! My husband wants to know if the people you were staying with change their computer password hourly. LOL ;-) Also, he said they must have one heckuva firewall and anti-virus protection system!!! LOL :D

  21. Dizzy Chick Lori Z
    Dizzy Chick Lori Z says:

Mmmmmm! I’ll have to look for Butter Shots!

Oh, Lynn, it’s a crazy household! Major history there, but basically everyone under 1 roof. Sis-in-law is (was) a computer “guru” @ her school. They HAD an ancient computer that we had access to in the basement. Every time my husband got on it, something went wrong. Then our son tried to use it & same thing. So they just started leaving it off, (when we visited) with warnings that there were “problems” & it couldn’t be used!

I got the hint! Anyway, now our niece has her own laptop, & s-i-l & husband have a new setup, but it’s in “their house” in the basement! So yeah, pretty much under lock & key!

    Almost CIA, but incognito… :D

  22. Dizzy Chick Lori Z
    Dizzy Chick Lori Z says:

No joke Lynn!!! It’s really strange to visit there any more. Sort of unwelcome feeling. A lot has changed in the past 18 months. It has always been a very orderly household with clear chain of command! Now everyone is taking charge & there’s too many cooks. (with attitudes!) We don’t get to see my father-in-law often, and he misses that. So we try to make the best of everything, but our visits are usually short.

  23. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

OOOH, Harriet, Butter Shots sounds good! I’ll have to give that a try! Thanks! :D

  24. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

Sounds like a lot of tension and control issues there. Hope you were able to enjoy seeing your father-in-law.

  25. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

I don’t drink much, and like the liquors best. Southern Comfort (not the highest proof one) is nice too. Good name, huh?

  26. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

I hope you were able to enjoy the visit with your father-in-law, too, Lori! Was this in another state?

Happy Chick, that is tooooo funny that you like Southern Comfort! LOL ;-)

  27. ChickyD aka Debra
    ChickyD aka Debra says:

I like coffee fine, but I really prefer tea. I like my coffee black and my tea with a splash of milk. Weird, I know. No sweetener in either one, thank you!
This last year I bought a Bailey’s knock-off and consumed quite a bit of it. Don’t remember the brand, though. I liked the price better.

BTW, I love the RICHNESS of your pick, Harriet!

  28. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

I’m like Debra when it comes to sweetening my tea — no thanks!!!! Just some lemon in my cold tea and sometimes some honey or cream in my hot tea. :D

  29. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

    Thanks, Debra!
LOL about that line about not remembering the brand. How much did you have at one time, Chick? :-)

  30. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

Lynn, cough, cough, I feel the need for cough syrup! :-)
When we were young, our daddy mixed up our own cough syrup, carefully rationed, with equal parts of honey, lemon, and Southern Comfort. It worked well, he knew what he was giving me, and I LOVED THE FLAVOR! Cough. ;)

  31. Elaine aka Belly Chick
    Elaine aka Belly Chick says:

Debra, we’ve tried the Bailey’s knock-off too (much better price tag) but for smoothness, you just can’t beat Bailey’s! Yum!
DOG Chick, ROLFL…yep, I’m the same way when it comes to coffee, just try prying it out of my hands!! :-D
Lynn, I didn’t know I had a sister! But with being the only girl with 4 brothers, I’ve always wanted a sister. It seems now that I have one! :-D

  32. Dizzy Chick Lori Z
    Dizzy Chick Lori Z says:

Yep, Harriet, lots of control issues! We did enjoy our visit, though. Mostly the controllers were absent, so things were rather peaceful! A little too quiet for the kids, but they can deal with it. My father-in-law is a very sweet and sentimental man. He & my mother-in-law were always very welcoming & kind, and didn’t meddle. And they raised a great son!

We are about 500 miles away? It’s a good 5 1/2 hr. drive if we go straight thru. But we never can due to pets! Always a stop in KC to leave someone with my mom! She’s a good sport, and we see her a lot more often.

  33. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

I think I can hear you coughing all the way up here in Indiana, Harriet! LOL ;-)

Yeah, Debra, how much did you drink of that Bailey’s wannabe?!?!?! LOL I bought one called Carolina’s or something like that and it was good. I must not have drunk it all at once like Debra if I can still remember the name! HAHAHA

  34. Happy Chick aka Harriet
    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

    ROTFL. :-)
    Nite, nite.

  35. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Elaine, I have a sister your age and a brother 6 years younger than I am. Maybe you and my sister were switched in the hospital! She and I have very little in common except that we have the same parents. LOL We do get along well, though, in spite of being so different. My brother and I are very close and share a lot of interests.

  36. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Nite, Harriet! Hope your “cough” is better soon! LOL ;-)

  37. Elaine aka Belly Chick
    Elaine aka Belly Chick says:

Lynn, all of my brothers are older than me. The oldest actually joined the army when he was 16 years old and that was the year I was born. And the youngest of my brothers is 7 years older than me, so I’ve almost always felt like an only child. I’ve always hated being the youngest and the only girl. I find as we have all gotten older that I really have nothing in common with any of them so we are not really close. I live in town and two of them farm south of town. The other two live in Alberta so I don’t see them very often. Well, I guess we can’t fight when we don’t see each other very often; even the ones that live around here. :-D

  38. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

Well, you can’t argue with that kind of reasoning, can you, Elaine? LOL I can see why you would have felt like an only child growing up. That must have been difficult for you. I’m happy to be your Chick Sister! You can be mine, too! :D

  39. Elaine aka Belly Chick
    Elaine aka Belly Chick says:

Yay, I finally have a sister!! I really is quite spooky the number of things we have in common, isn’t it?! Spooky but cool! :-D

  40. Lynn Eileen Chicky LE
    Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:

I agree!!! :D Glad to have such a cool sister!

Happy chick, thank you for such a way fun and beautiful Pick for coffee, so happy to hear about your new coffee pot, yaaayyyyy!!!!!
Since relocating to Seattle in 1993 I’ve drank more coffee than I’ve had in my whole life… sometimes I think that if any company could just figure out a way to make a scent w/ the aroma of freshly roasted/ground coffee and pipe it into a room that would work… love all the coffee creamer flavors although I’m partial to any “nutty” flavors such as hazelnut or almond… love all the comments about what we add to coffee – like Bailey’s!!! I sometimes make “cheap mochas” by adding some hot choco mix to coffee, or some choco ovaltine… :)
the new Bronzite beads esp that drop pendant are way gorgeous, this is a rich and lovely Pick!!!! :)

Thanks, Smart Chick. It was a fun pick and a fun nite’s conversation. :-)
