“The Snow Queen”

Description from Artful Chick aka Siobhan: I know, I know ... more of the snow thing. We have more coming, so I thought of the Snow Queen, the fairytale written by Hans Christian Anderson. As a little girl I read this and all of his stories so many times I lost count. I thought this tale to be quite magical since I was living in a place where there was no snow. How I'd love to be there right now!

What a beautiful pick! I remember that story, too. What part of the country do you live in? I’m in Indiana. :D

    Hi Lynn,
I’m on Long Island, in New York. I grew up in Portugal, where the climate was mild. Not this sort of thing! Siobhan

I have to ask…. what’s with the “chick” in the names?

Siobhan, the story behind the “Chick” names began with LB’s Easter egg hunt in 2009. Several of us started adding “Chick” or “Chicky” to either something that interested us or to our own names. It’s just a fun thing we do — feel free to pick one for yourself! :D

This is really stunning, Siobhan, even if I am tired of snow! I also read that many times when I was young. Since you grew up in Portugal, how did you end up on Long Island? Where are you on LI, my husband grew up there and lived there until he was in his 20′s. :D
