“The Swan Song”

Description from AllureofGemsGlamJulia: Do you know that swans only choose partner ones. And... if one of them dies another one will be very lonely and before he dies he sings a swan song, other wise they do not sing. Hence the saying "The Swan's song"...

Julia, I had read that about swans — so romantic and sad at the same time. What a gorgeous pick! I love the copper with these colors! :D

Lovely pick! Swans are so beautiful. I also have read they mate for life. Cardinal males crack open the seed to feed the female during maating season. Fun to watch.

First I love this pick it is gorgeous love the soft aqua colors. True swans mate for life are beautiful and graceful.
They can also become viscious animals. The camp ground we used to frequent in Modoc, Indiana had a pair of swans. The female died in distress because she could find no place for her eggs. Some of the children who used to come there teased the male after she died. One day a camper came who had his year round sight by the lake was the only one around. The male swan attacked him stood over him and began to beat him with those immensly strong large wings. Soon after the camp ground people had to get rid of him so he would not harm anyone. So sad.

Faith I had actually a good experience with swans. The town where we lived was improving one of the parks. That black and orange fencing you see was to keep things out. I took the girls oneday to feed the ducks. Anyway one of the cignets was caught in the fencing. I know how mean swans are but clearly I had to do something. I untangled it and fully expected to be beat and bitten. Somehow the male let me help, but only after he bit my head a couple times. I almost gave up. I put the baby on the otherside of the fence and off they went. That gratitude for you.

    Thank You, chickies :)

Yes, it is true that they become vindictive. But maybe his mate could not find the place for her eggs due to the humans being too invasive in the area…

    Anyway it is sad…
