“Thinking Spring VI”
Description from Granny Nancy: Now this is not pretty but it was fun to create a picture with beads. As a kid I loved working in the garden. It was a large garden and one of my chores was official #1 weeder, hoe operator, selecting vegetables for suppper.
There was spinach, swiss chard, or beet greens as well as cucumbers, tomatoes, and potatoes. Dad would dig those up and clean them and put them in the bin in the cellar. Sometimes it was peas and later in the season corn of course. And there was more. My favorite of the greens were the beet greens.
We also went off and picked peaches, blueberries, apples, etc. Mom canned everything she could to save money during the winter. I loved helping to can stuff.
