A beautiful combination Julia! You’ve been making a lot of great picks lately!!

About the roses, I’m a bit confused as to the best time to trim them. Maybe it depends on where you live? I’ve always been told to trim in early spring but maybe now is better? We live in Indiana and still have lots of warm weather to come. What do you think?

Mary , we live in SC on the board with NC.

Summer was and is yet… very hot and dry.

I planted only “Knockout” roses which bloom through December. And in November I usually give them a “drastic” trim, clean the base from debris and put fresh mulch for winter protection. You do not want to trim roses in the spring as it is their time to branch and start blossoms. I trim camellias in the early Spring as they blossom in February, and Crape Myrtle trees. Gardenias I will slightly trim next month…
