LOVE the creative title of your Pick, I’m guessing that tourmaline is one of your Fav stones…. love the many colors of tourmaline, from black to pink to green to … olive green…

Love the title. Love the beads. I usually use gold with my tourmaline. but alas -no gold in the land of LB. The brass works well.

Downy! are you tormented? it isn’t affecting your picks! beautiful! oh, oh, tormented that we’d have to stop eating & paying rent to get our fill of tourmaline?! YEAH, now I get it. tormented here too

ok – laugh at the blonde. now I really really get it TOURMented. its Sunday – I’m thinking slowly….. ;)

I bought the tourmaline beads and I love them. I’m going to use the speckled ones in my nest necklace.

Thanks gals! Smoky, that’s it exactly! Too many beads and not enough paychecks!!! Especially all the tourmaline, which is a fave of mine…and of course, our scapolite and garnets and, and–well, I guess I could go on all day :)

That will be gorgeous Southern Chick!!

  8. Southern Chickie
    Southern Chick says:

Downy, I hope that the tourmalines will be gorgeous…I’m afraid to try the nest part! I even bought a bronze branch!

  9. Southern Chickie
    Southern Chick says:

I’ve only been beading 3 weeks and I’ve only taken two classes.

  10. Michelle Downy Chick
    Michelle Downy Chick says:

For me it was a lot easier than it looks. I only do fairly basic pieces myself–feel a bit like an amateur compared to everyone else here :)

  11. Smoky Rose
    Smoky Rose says:

for real, Southern? cool & good for you! Don’t be afraid. I say (and I’m frugal and hate waste) – that the wire is the cheapest part of beading, right? – so try it, worse comes to worse, what have you lost? try it again! (just don’t use SS wire – time for that later) know what I mean? I’m excited that everybody’s nesting/nest building! Imagine this… imagine – we’ve never seen eachother – but you see a woman (no doubt, well dressed, because we are of the creative crowd) in an airport, etc – and you see a nest around her neck! It would be so tempting, even for a shy sort like me, to approach and ask if she was a Chick!

  12. Michelle Downy Chick
    Michelle Downy Chick says:

Oh my gosh Mary–now I’m going to be looking at everyone’s neck’s when I travel this summer! That would be so cool!

Most of my stuff is basic too. I string usually one or 2 beads and a metal- what makes it unique are the color combinations and bead choice – which are getting better because of my time here.

  14. Smoky Rose
    Smoky Rose says:

    wouldn’t that be sooo funny?
of course, if they were not a Chick, they’d think we’re nuts… but what the heck, I’m willing to take the risk! ;)

  15. Michelle Downy Chick
    Michelle Downy Chick says:

Jeanne–you’re so right! The inspiration from everyone has really helped my eye for colors.

Hey–I think the odds are pretty good that it would be a chick…look what we’ve started ;)
