puppychick labratbecky says:Merilee–that in theory is the best way to handle it but I’m pretty sure I am not strong enough to maintain my composure after they come back with a response to me and I know they will because I have tried this. I have internalized it for too many years and my rational brain has left the building. My best weapon is smile and ignore but my blood pressure suffers and my cortisol levels are off the charts. Jacki–that sounds fabulous.
My escape of choice is either on a beach in Oregon or a cabin along the southern shore of Lake Superior. I have thought about this. Income and amenities might become a problem.

I am planning on wearing “Anger Management” tomorrow per Laud’s suggestion. I don’t know if one or both offenders will be there and I don’t look at the schedule ahead because I don’t want to think about it. 
Since I am the main fungus/TB expert, I do get to spend a considerable chunk of every week hiding in that Level III lab. I LOVE that!

Becky, sometimes it helps to write a letter to the person. The important thing is to NOT send it. Just getting your feelings out can help sometimes. Sometimes I’ve talked to an empty chair (only at home — I’m goofy, but not that goofy LOL) & pretended the offender was sitting across from me. Then I really unload on “him/her”!

I don’t know.if they talk to you in an angry tone but this.is something I learned dealing with the abusive ex. Read it somewhere. When the person is angrily confronting you repeat everything they say back to them in a calm tone. It shows them you heard them and for.some.reason deflates the situation. It def worked for me.
