what a beautiful Pick, violets are one of my favorite flowers even though they’re pretty particular about how they’re watered – I’ve had african violets, are they different from “regular” violets?

Cathy H Chocolate Chick says:Our violets grow outside and bloom in the spring – sort of like a wild flower, or, some would say, a weed. They are very small and grow close to the ground. I’ll have to find a picture and post it. I have had African violets too – these don’t have the fuzzy leaves. Thanks for the compliment Smart Chick!

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Cathy, You’re not kidding about those pesky violets being invasive. They got started in my heirloom mum garden and nearly smothered them. I’ve been painstakingly pulling them up for 3 years now. They come up by the HUNDREDS and have very stubborn roots. I think the seeds live for years!
In the right place though, they are VERY beautiful when in bloom. I have them in my woodland garden mixed with other wild flowers. Lovely.
