Favorite! Love this pick!! This was my favorite book as a child! I liked the movie alot, though I wish they hadn’t changed it…but the book…that was just IT for me as a kid, heh!

    Loved the illustrations.

  3. Vampire Chickie Ravin
    Vampire Chickie Ravin says:

So did I, after the age of 6, heh, before that would read it in braille over, and over again. Loved it. It was amazing once I could actually read it for real, AND see the pictures! :D

Okay, I have to ask: how did you gain your sight?

  5. Vampire Chickie Ravin
    Vampire Chickie Ravin says:

A hospital in the Bronx specializing in optical surgeries. I had 2 before the age of 6 that were inconclusive, but the 3rd was the charm, it worked, I’m still “legally” blind in one eye, I can oly see vague black, white, and grey blobs out of it, but my other eye is 20/20.

I haven’t had the chance to read the book or the movie, but I really like this pick Raven! Is Braille considered a language? I wonder if you could ever teach it. Don’t know if you have that kind of patience but if you did I am sure you could teach with much empathy.

    Vampire Chickie Ravin says:

I think, but am not sure, that braille is a language. I have taught it before, not as a profession, but on a volunteer basis, as I’ve also done with American Sign Language, since my little sister Emily is completely deaf. I taught myself first, so she and I could communicate easilly without having to tote around a pad and pen and write everything, lol.

Oh, and LRC deserves credit for the great pick, not me, lol ;)
