thanks downy chick, congrats on picking your “chick” name, welcome!!! BTW, this was originally inspired by a visit yesterday afternoon to my fav local bead shop, I enjoyed seeing some beads in person that L.B. has even though their names were sometimes different. I was somewhat shocked at the price for some lovely strands of peru rhodocrosite they had, beads that are heart shaped, they were $1.79 per piece or about $45 for a whole strand, drool…. :) … however after checking L.B.’s peru rhodocrosite prices and considering the amount of labor to carve stone into such gorgeous “heart” shapes, I guess their prices aren’t quite so shocking… always interesting to compare local and online…

Thanks! I left for a baseball game yesterday and had a “chick” waiting for me when I got back. I was just doing the very same thing at a bead shop. It’s nice to be able to compare stones in person. I was myself drooling over some gorgeous lampwork flowers, but couldn’t bring myself to spend 50$ for one piece…maybe one day if I marry a very rich man!
