Description from Kitty Chicky Cat: I did a craft show this Saturday and shared a table with some friends. I should have made more than just earrings ,which don’t seem to sell well on their own especially if the materials are expensive which means the prices are higher. It didn’t help that there were half a dozen other people selling jewelry and the event wasn’t advertised very well so not many people came. The beads were beautiful (pearls from Lima :) ) but the earrings didn’t sell! :(

Little Round Chick says:What a bummer. I know just how you feel. This time last year I participated in a small craft show and didn’t sell anything. Luckily I didn’t have to pay for booth space so my only expenses were time and gasoline. It certainly takes the wind out of your sails when some thing like this happens. We know your jewelry is great and it is a shame others don’t have the good sense to realize quality work requires quality components. Don’t let it get you down. Just think of this experience as a bump in the road and continue on to bigger and better things.

Leigh D says:I hate that for you – this is one of the reasons I have yet to do a craft show – except I make necklaces and no earrings! I have done home shows at friends houses and have done well and not so well. I have honestly done the best by word of mouth and my photobucket album. When asked about my jewelry I just refer them to the album and there you go.

I did a “Craft” Fair last Saturday adn a guy who made games out of rough boards he sanded and stained complained about the damn beaders, who do they think they are? What makes that a craft???? Hang in there, each show is different!
