It sometimes surprises people that I meet through beading that I am a scientist (background in biology and chemistry), but I see no reason that science and art should be mutually exclusive! In fact I’ve met a number of cool, creative ‘scientist beaders’ over the years.

I was bitten by the beading bug while visiting my cousin Judith for Thanksgiving one fall; the infection became permanently established a couple of days later when I stumbled into my first bead store: Colors! Textures! Shapes! Mmmmm….

After 2 years of fun making pieces for myself and friends, I started my jewelry-making business at the urgings of my friends. I sell mostly at craft shows, and in a few galleries and shops. It’s always fun and an adventure every time I sit down at the beading table.
