Nice pick, diamonddustshoe! I’m glad you waited! Though, I did run into the “Not Eggs-actly” pick on way more paged than I care to remember!

diamonddustshoe, I couldn’t tell you what page it was, but at one point an egg showed up right under the butterfly in the header by the bag icon, making it look like the butterfly was perched just to one side on top.

I also remember finding an egg in the chain zoom on an item in a [...]

As an alternative to the suggestions for more eggs next year, I would vote for eliminating some of the nooks and crannies instead. With so many products there are plenty of places to hide eggs, and people would still have plenty of digging to do, but it would be nice to know that we didn’t have [...]

Elaine, that’s one thing you DON”T have to worry about. That’s the sorting that’s mentioned in the rules: “You will NEVER have to use the sorting menu (to sort products by price, name, etc) to find eggs. That would just be too cruel ”

Miriam V, the only reason your name comes after J Coats and lightningbug [...]

Oh Lima Beads… I found hundreds of beautiful, perfect, cheeky, happy hiding spots for eggs. I only wish you had seen fit to hide more eggs in those spots I found! A few actual spots I enjoyed were the bird’s nest, the waving not-bean, and the butterfly perch! (Don’t think I’m giving anything away there.) Thanks [...]

I seem to be hitting the same empty stretches as everyone else. It seems like i look through section after section with no eggs. And yet, seeing the leaders climb, I know they are out there! I can’t imagine how I got to 183 last year, and don’t see making it that high this year. But [...]

CY P: yes, those Bigger Photo views count as some of the nooks and crannies… pretty deep ones, I might add!

Stone Treasures: the rules state that you will never have to change the sort to find eggs. So you can leave the Sort By drop-down on the default and just search through what you see. You [...]

Lynne A: you unlock prize levels as you find eggs and get to choose a prize from EACH unlocked prize level. So if you make it to 50, you get a 10-egg prize and a 50-egg prize, PLUS a discount code for the 25-egg prize. So keep racking up those eggs (and prizes!)

The “view all” pages that are excluded are the ones you get to when you click on an actual “view all” link next to the page count. So if there are 5 pages of items in the current list, you can go to the next page, or you can click “view all” at the top or [...]

Thanks for a fun and challenging hunt, LB! diamonddustshoe, I also agree about the cluster effect. ~450 items with nothing, then 2 eggs only 2 items apart! I figured that just ensured we had to be thorough, as you couldn’t ever assume you were done with a page just because you found an egg! I would [...]

Jet: Regarding the page 4 freebie, it is a REALLY long page, so click the link and walk away while it loads. Then scroll down through it to find the egg.

A Gilliland: Yes, ANY page (other than the stated exclusions) is fair game, including the individual item pages.

Some of these egg locations just make me chuckle! I had this little story going in my head about how, the night before the hunt, the web programmers dump 200 eggs into the site and let them go crawling around wherever they want to go. The eggs can get onto (almost) any page of the site; [...]

Just to add to Steve’s clarification and directly respond to Ilike2think’s question: If you are on an item page for example, and see the Fresh Picks or designs at the bottom of the page there could be eggs around those images, etc. *on the item page*. If you click ON a Fresh Pick or design, or [...]

For anyone struggling to get to 50 eggs, I’d just like to remind them that there are 50 eggs hidden in places that don’t take that much work to find. Start with the home page and see what you can get to in 1 click, or 2 clicks. There are lots of areas of the site [...]

R Schreiner: Yes, there are check marks, though I noticed that they don’t appear right when you click on an egg, but only after you refresh the page. So if you go back to a page with an egg you already found, it should show the check mark.

In the vein of wanting to know where some of those eggs were hidden, I’ve been wondering for days where the “decompression sickness” egg was!

Had lots of fun with this year’s hunt (my second), even though my fiance thinks I’m nuts and would really like to see me a bit more often. (It’s only one week, right?) I would love to keep hunting for the next almost 3 hours just to keep inching up the board, but sadly work beckons [...]

For what it’s worth, I think you hit a really nice balance this year with the easy-to-find eggs, take-a-bit-more-work eggs, and bring-out-the-straight-jacket eggs. Getting to 100 was definitely doable, probably for most people, once you know how to look (and don’t try looking for all the obscure ones right off the bat!) Now, 4 days to [...]
