Hey, a girl has got to have some BLING in her life, right?
So happy Mandie’s check-up was a success! Hugs!
Hi, Mandie & Ranger! Are you enjoying playing in the snow today? I hear you are supposed to get a lot of it!
Say ”hi” to your mommy for me!
Maybe you could call them Lord & Lady of the Snow……LOL
So — how is sweet Mandie doing today? Is Ranger happy to have a playmate again?
Dawn, I see you took my advice about your profile — LOL!
You’re right — Mandie is definitely a keeper!
When we adopted Shelby, everyone told us how lucky she was — but we knew we were really the lucky ones. I know exactly how you feel!
Well, you’re right — my birthday is Jan. 4 and Bob has told me we can start looking for a dog after Christmas, so you never know!
P.S. Now you’ll have to update your profile with your new age and your new fur-baby!
I am SO HAPPY for all of you Dawn!! Sounds like this is one of those ”meant to be stories”!!
My dear Dawn, your story about Mandie really touched my heart! I feel certain that it was meant to be, especially in light of the situation with the family’s daughter! What a wonderful thing to have happened…you got Mandie, and were able to give support to a family that needed it! Many blessings to you and to them!
Good Morning! For those of you who are interested I will now begin our story on Mandie!
As some of you know our story begins with broken hearts. In October we had to put our beloved Wrigley down. WE still miss him terrribly. Steve knew I really hurt and a couple weeks after Wrigley died stared looking for puppies. I know he had a big hole in his hear too. I told him we should wait til spring. Well the man is driven and doesns’t take no for an answer. I supposed that is why he cahrmed me into eloping with him. Another story.
Abot a month ago while I was at Mom’s caring for her he was searching for Shelties and he came accross this Ebay ad to find a good home for Gabby. He showed me the ad but at first I did dimiss it. My heart was not ready. I will admit she was a cutie and from the side looked like Wrigley. After that I would think aout her and I wast I guess haunted by her.
I emailed the family asking for info and the Mom responded. it did sound positive, but again I thought it best to wait. I was being nagged by that inner voice so I emailed back and told them we would like to come for Gabbie. A few days later The Mom was not sure if whe wanted to let her go. the kids had formed an attachment to her and so was she. (Mom was trying to find a home for Gabby because her friend could no longer keep her-Allergies.
I told her well keep her if think it best. I told her if she had second thoughts let me know. I mentioned what had transpiried to Steve and we let it go.
Again the determined man while I was gone did a mapquest and decided we would go to ”get” Gabbie on the 8th my birthday.
Well I went along with the program and we brought Ranger with us. I knew we would be bringing her home. He sprug this on me just before we went to bed.
WE got up and raced out of the house. We had sunny skies. snow showers and then a blizzard to get thru and we get to the end of the directions and guess what WE can’t find the house.
I am moving to Michigan you guys and girls. We knocked on some peoples doors to try to find the family. No dice. Okay knmow I am wondering what kinda of a man did I marry here?
WE went to the library to see if we got something wrong between emails. Using the libraries computers we waited. This birthday is not going well at this point now girls. Lets go get some coffee I told Steve I sent them my cell and wait it out a bit. He was pushing the waiting out part more than i at this point. Bless those Michingan people who opened their doors to us! While I went to coffee the family called.
Seems they were having problems of their own. Thier baby was in the hospital. They had forgot about us!
Under the circumstances I could understand that. They met us at the Grocery STore it was easier for them and we met Gabbie which we decided did not fit her and decided to call her Mandie! Seems we have alot more in common with this family than we wver thought. Their baby had a simular birthdefect as our daughter (another long story) I could so identify what they were going thru. I gave her some info which she wat grateful for and told her to email me. I would give her support if whe needed as I know how hard it is when no one else has the same problem as you do.
We made the ride home and got everyone settled. She spent time checking out the house and finally settled in an slept next to me on the couch which is just where she is now as I type this. She is not too sure about the cuckoo clock though.
So that is my Story and I am sticking with it.
Dawn, I can’t wait to see photos of your new fur-baby!!! Mandi is one lucky little girl!
