Personal

Hello fellow beaders! My name is Lori & I have been beding for about 8 months & without a doubt am COMPLETELY hooked! I am an oncology nurse by profession, but a beader @ heart. This all started so innocently when I asked a patient’s daughter about wether the necklace she was wearing was homemade or not? She replied”yes my daughter & I started dabbling in it together bbut she has since moved away. I have a box of supplies @ home, would you like them? That was then…………now you should see my stash!! My job requires so much physical AND emotional stress, that I find making my designs so relaxing. I live in Pa with my fiancee (happily unmarried….LOL)& 3 children: 16, 15, 10. They are all very supportive of my “addiction” and love to brag about what mommmy made now. Would love to meet beaders on here from pittsburgh or surrounding areas to get tips on marketing, where to sell and so on, so I welcome any convos. Nice to meet you all…………and oh yea..HAPPY BEADING

I am doing my first outdoor show this upcoming weekend and I am a nervous wreck!!! I am so used to setting up for indoor shows and had to “shift gears” for an outdoor one. I LOVE YOUR booth, it looks so inviting. Hopefully mine turns out this well. We did a “dry run” in the [...]

Hello fellow chickies. Hope this finds you all well. Had a couple questions that I hoped you all could help me with. Where is the best place to shop for gemstones & semi-precious stones, especially for those of us on a budget? I feel like I am ”in a rut” and keep seeing the same beads over & over again. The ones that I see and really, really want are too expensive for us right now. I am off of work for an indefinite amount of time due to 2 herniated discs. Thank god for disability insurance. However, I am using alot of this time & sinking myself into learning new skills & making new creations. I have a show every saturday in April and on the 9th I am having an open house in my home: which leads me to my next question. Any tips on the open house. This would be my 1st one. The hours are from 9am-9pm. I had to do the hours that way because I am a nurse and want to give everyone who expressed an interest time to get there. For incentive, I am giving 10% off for each friend that anyone brings. Ok chickies, sry for being so long-winded, just trying to get this really going while I am off work. Anxiously awaiting any tips.
