I’m 32 years old and new to beading. I started as a fun hobby, and yes I’ve found it is a bit addicting. I am a geologist so I enjoy the gemstones, as well as, anything “shiny”–a common joke about geologists. I love this site and seeing all the beautiful picks and designs everyone makes here! Everyone here is so encouraging and the picks and designs made are always full of creativity and inspiration. I’ve learned a lot from everyone here about design-thanks everyone!
Olive Penguin- I study olivine, which is an olive green mineral–the gem variety is??? Peridot I have always loved penguins, and when I was in high school a friend called me green penguin, because my favorite color is green and I love penguins. I decided to combine the two to get Olive Penguin. Olive, O.P,, Olive Penguin, or Veronica any name is fine by me. Beading is my hobby so I felt I needed an alias.
