It’s about 2″ tall. I will be making a braided waxed linen necklace and will add a few little embellishments to the necklace -something subtle so it doesn’t take away anything from the piece.

I am a metal smithing student…my instructor is nationally known for her work with Japanese alloys and her beautiful unique jewelry pieces. She is a “purist” and she really pushes us to make all components of a piece from hand – not ready made. This is a real challenge sometimes!

Fresh Baked – It is a pendant but it’s a bit heavy so I’ll probably use leather; or I could braid or chain crocheted a necklace using waxed linen thread with a few small embellishment added. How does that sound? I’ll put a pic up when it’s finished. Thanks for everyone’s positive feedback!

Great job! You did an awesome job on this!
Just a tip when etching: if your design isn’t too intricate, go over the design with an enamel paint pen, let it dry then put it in your ferric chloride. You will get an incredible etch!
