Personal

My title at Lima Beads is “Creative Director and Co-Founder”. From the products we carry to the visuals on the Lima Beads web site, to our magazine ads – it’s my job to make sure everything works toward what we’re trying to accomplish creatively. When someone looks at one of our magazine ads or visits our web site, I want them to feel what a fun, energetic place Lima Beads is. When they shop our products, I want them to feel our unshakable commitment to quality, consistency and “freshness”.

Hey there, I feel silly but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to upload some of my jewellery photos. I am a featured beader (THANKS!!) and I wan’t to get some of my stuff up before the feature beaders moves on.

    Hey there Ali,
I have seen your website for quite awhile. Just got around to visiting, and I love its bright, colorful layout.

Also, you sound a bit like me, in the way you bead. Just throwing out beads and see what comes of it.

I do something similar..in that I decide which of my beads I want to start with; I lay out a couple of inches of beads; if I like it, then I string. I usually use wire. If I don’t, I scoop up what is there and move on to something else.

I don’t like to use patterns. But I do enjoy looking at peoples work. Sometimes a combination of colors just jumps out at me, and I go from there.

You will be the next site I purchase from!

Enjoy little Payton — she will grow all too fast – my ”baby” is 30.

    Best, Libby

Hi Ali ~ I’m not sure why you ”popped up” as a friend after I wrote my profile, but I’m glad you did.

I think it may be that I approach jewelry making in much the same way that you approach your creative work for Lima Beans. And I’d like to say that you’ve met your stated goals wonderfully.

Lima Beans is one of the most interesting bead websites around, and I love everything from the Fresh Pics to the way LB’s products are shown.

I also like the groups, which I just discovered today. It’s great to feel like I’m part of a community. One thing that would be really great would be to have a gallery to showcase members’ works. I don’t know if there are too many members to make this feasible, but each person could put up one photo of his/her work … very democratic. It would be so interesting to see. Now, I’m off to check out some of the other groups
