Our mission is to support the loving, responsible care of all animals in our community by:
The Humane Society of Huron Valley is "on call" to rescue sick or injured, animals, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We bring the animals back to our shelter to be properly cared for by our veterinarians and trained shelter staff. We rescue sick or injured domestic animals as well as sick or injured wildlife. Whenever possible, we work with our local Friends of Wildlife organization for rehabilitation and release.
Another aspect of our mission is to provide shelter for homeless animals. We receive hundreds of animals each month from throughout Washtenaw County. Some are stray or abandoned animals, animals given up their owners, sick or injured animals, or animals brought in by local animal control. We strive to reunite strays with their owners and place as many animals as possible into caring homes through our adoption program.
