My Last Post as a Single GuyPosted by Matt on October 09 at 09:22 pm
It’s 8 PM on Thursday and I’m leaving for Frankenmuth (and my wedding!) in just a few hours. After being engaged for a year and a half, I honestly can’t believe that it’s already here.
I hope that after the wedding, things will slow down a bit. This past week has been the most hectic week of my life. The only thing keeping me sane is the thought of what comes after this Saturday. Not only do I get to spend every minute with my best friend, but we’re spending next week in Costa Rica.
Don’t tell Deidra (my fiance), but I think I’m more excited for the honeymoon than the actual wedding. Our resort is on the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by rainforest. The pictures make it look pretty gorgeous. However, I’m a little nervous because the only foreign country I’ve been to is Canada. I’m really not sure what to expect. Also, I’ve heard that all it does is rain this time of year.
When it comes down to it, I’m nervous about the honeymoon for the same reason that I’m nervous about marriage — they’re both foreign territory for me. Just like the rain in Costa Rica, I only hear the bad things about being married.
Despite all of the unknowns, I’m confident that I’ll make the best out of it. However, it’s always great to hear some good advice. If you’d like to share your experiences (with marriage, foreign countries, or both), feel free to drop it in a comment below.
I’ll be seeing you after the honeymoon, wish me luck!
