It’s a wonderful idea to create a special necklace to commemorate your first Christmas as newlyweds. Try to work in a garnet or few…. keeps love in your heart and is known as a happy stone. It may even help you as you work your craft because it’s wonderful for creativity. Happy Beading!

Thanks everyone for all of the advice.

@CAS – “Merry Christmas Newlyweds” is great! I really like the different color pearls that you used. I also agree with Leslie W that your “Birch Beer” pick would work well.

@Alice P – I’m a pretty big fan of our Vintaj brass as well. Not only does Deidra love neutral colors, she also loves the ‘Antique’ look.

@Leslie W – I’ve attached a few pictures of our Honeymoon below. I hope you enjoy!

@Michele W – I agree that it would be hard to make something look bad using stones from Lima.

I just figured out what might be a great way to use “Scarlet Macaw”. The colors are so different that I was stumped. How about a charm bracelet or necklace using beads from all the strands made into charms and then randomly attached to a silver link chain? Or how about a multi-strand bracelet with five or six strands, one strand for each type of bead? Have a great day.

How about some pics of Costa Rica scattered around the blog?
Here are my suggestions based on the hints that she likes browns and purples and blues.
“Brass and Opals” by me Leslie W if you want to get started in vintaj.
“Birch Beer” and “Brownies” have great pearls included.
Lastly “After Years in the Mud” which includes purples and blues.
Have fun with color therapy together, as that is really what beading is all about, isn’t it? Well, maybe a little texture therapy thrown in too!

I’m in love with all the Vintaj Natural Brass components. You can easily add one of their pendants to a strand with jump rings. Your strand could include other Vintaj brass beads, connectors (I like the deco connectors) and purple gemstones and freshwater pearls. The earrings could be easy with the deco connectors and a purple gemstone. I didn’t look for a fresh pick that features these pieces, but there’s probably one similar. Alice

I think this is a very sweet idea. Go with basic stringing rather than tackling wire wrapping. It’ll just stress you out.

I like your first pick in this post because it has romantic inspiration from your honeymoon. Once you decide on beads, just lay them out and start playing with them!

Most of the beading tools you need you can buy at the hardware store allowing you to maintain your masculinity

Matt – I just put together a “fresh pick” titled “Merry Christmas Newlyweds” which you might like. I encorporated purples, blues & browns with simple shapes, and two Green Girl pieces I thought appropriate.
