The Lima Beads community just got a whole lot bigger.

We’re so proud of the community that you’ve help us build here at Lima Beads. That’s why we want to share it with the world! What better way to expand our community than on Facebook? It’s the world’s largest social network and the first place people go when they’re trying to find others with similar interests.

Chances are, some of you are already on Facebook. For those of you who aren’t, it’s free and easy to sign up. All you have to do is provide some information about yourself and BAM! you’re ready to start communicating with the world. I have to warn you though, once you sign up, it’s hard to stay away.

To become a fan of Lima Beads, just search for “Lima Beads” on Facebook or follow this link. Click on the link that says “Become a Fan.”

Why Become a Fan?

  • Sneak peeks of new products
  • Never miss a deal
  • Exclusive feature previews
  • New contest announcements
  • Keep up with the Lima Team

I hope I will still get all of your special offers even though I do not want to register on Facebook!!!

I just became a fan- so glad you are on FB- lets go Chicks- if I am not on LB I am usually on FB.

Leslie W (and anyone else that isn’t on Facebook) – don’t worry! We’ll make sure you don’t miss out on any major special offers. Any time we have a sale or discount of some sort, it’ll be announced to everyone.

Facebook is a place that will allow us to have small, more frequent updates about what’s going on around Lima, but all major announcements will still take place on this blog.

    Dear Lima beads folks,

thanks for the question, like Leslie W, I would prefer not to have to switch to Face Book. I’m currently in grad school and have lots of online conversing to keep up with as part of our required school process, I like this blog as a way for us to connect, plus – of course – the stupendously bodacious “Fresh Picks” section! :)

  5. CAS
    CAS says:

Kevin – I may be an old stick-in-the-mud but I agree with Leslie W. and Joyce Yee. Look at it this way if I’m on facebook’s site I won’t be here BUYING BEADS quite so much.

  6. Kevin
    Kevin says:

CAS and Joyce – No problem! You don’t have to worry. This is the way to look at it – Facebook is just another place for us to put all of our stuff. There’s no denying that it’s very popular for a lot of people and we just want to make sure they can see our stuff too :) You all read our blog every day and keep up with the site, but a lot of people don’t do that. Facebook will be an easier way for them to keep up with all that is Lima.

You’re not going to miss out on anything.

Thanks for keeping L.B. here, for those of us who don’t want to go to Facebook!! Also, Facebook is a good opportunity for you!!! Just keep up on your inventory, I don’t want everything sold out all the time. GOOD LUCK!!!

Oh yeah, you might have to get a bigger space!!!!

I agree with the above! I don’t have time to get drawn into facebook (I‘m on here way too much as it is ;) )!! besides, I like the feeling of this site an the beading community we have right here (right “Chicks”)! I’d think you wouldn’t want to divert people away from your site. And the less time we spend on your site the less the temptation to buy beads (which could be a good thing for some of us but…). Although this could be good publicity for Lima and it must be nice for those beaders who spend a lot of time on facebook. I don’t know… I guess I’m just saying ‘it’s cool but I think I’ll stay right here‘.

Did I mention I love your site, think it’s the best out there, and that you guys are great?! I hope this facebook thing helps expand your business and that you are more and more prosperous in the years to come! Did I also mention I’m not good with change? Sorry.
I can’t wait to see how your business continues grow and change!
    I love Lima Beads!!!

I totally agree with ALL that was already said. I’m a stick-in-the-mud like CAS and really have no time or desire to join facebook. I’ll stay right here. I’m not so good with change either.
Grow Lima Beads, but please remain who you are!!! You’re fantastic.

Add my sentiments to my friends above! Although, with the amount of time my daughter spends on facebook, I do see it as a way to reach out to a different audience. I for one love this forum, where we’ve all met so many others from all over. Looking forward to the new section where we can post our work in progress in one place. Thanks LB for a great website!

I think your being on FB is very cool. Will you have a space for pictures of jewelry made with stones from Lima Beads?
Great way to promote your stones and a place for your customers to showcase their creations!

I’m with my “Chicky” friends! Love it right here on your FANTASTIC site – good friends and good beads!!

I have Facebook because I use it to keep in touch with my college kids. I told my daughter I have found the equivalent of Facebook made just for beaders and I LOVE it! I’m glad to have updates from Limabeads on my Facebook page, but it won’t keep me from coming to this site and for those who don’t have Facebook, you aren’t missing anything. I just get same info in two different places and when I do get on Facebook, I have little reminder to come to the Lima website!

Hi Kevin, I follow you on Twitter which is another place to gain exposure to your products. I find Twitter is a little more interesting than Facebook because it is done in real time. I have been involved in a few forums but this is, by far, the best and most relaxed site I’ve ever seen or been involved with. Please don’t change a thing because I am now hooked! :-)

    Happy Chick aka Harriet says:

I have facebook, mostly because my family members (the younger ones) wanted me to do it. BUT I agree w/ the Chicks and others in that we already have our own spot right here at Lima Beads. We visit, shop, chat, shop, stay in touch, shop the BGBM, make fresh picks, see new ideas, shop some more. I think you see where this is going. Don’t change too much, because we love you just as you are.
Of course, we do love all the specials, and new bead day, and Tues. Lunch, and Wow! lots to love!
